Exclamation And now for a brief report (pic heavy) from Dalian, China . . .

First there was the Exxon Valdez oil spill disaster (Alaska - 1989). Then we have the on-going Golf of Mexico oil leak disaster (Louisiana). And now, on the other side of the world, China is dealing with an oil spill disaster of it`s own . . .

For a short report and 29 rather stunning photos, click here - http://www.boston.com/bigpicture/201...ian_china.html

WOW! Doesn't look good for China, BP will be glad to have the eyes of the world aimed somewhere else for a while though!

I seen one tiny picture of this spill in the Edmonton journal Wednesday edition. With about five lines written about it. Actually not about the huge spill, but about the poor bugger drowning in a sea of crude.

That was the last I heard or seen about it. I doubt the eyes of the world will turn to china. And I doubt the clean up will be nearly as extensive.

Hundreds of thousands of barrels of oil are spilt every year in Nigeria, and Columbia. But due to corrupt Governments, and the fact that oily pelicans aren't washing up on beaches where white people like to take their holidays, nobody seems to care.

Not to mention the Canadian and American cities pumping raw sewage into the ocean every day. Doesnt New York also send most of their domestic garbage to sea? The ocean is pretty effective at cleaning itself. Thankfully.

The ocean is pretty good at cleanin' itself, but there is a limit. And I think we're damn close to reaching that limit if we haven't already.

Same concern with seafood imported from the Golf Coast.

Not very appetizing
