Smile need fishing recommendations

Hey all,

I'm in Edmonton for a few days and would love to take my old man out fishing, but haven't got a clue about fishing in Alberta. I guess it's mostly pike and pickerel in the area? I've mostly only fished for trout and salmon in BC. If anyone can recommend me some good places to go within 3-ish hours of the city, i'd be super greatful!

Cheers,

Sarah

If you have a boat, go to Wabamun Lake it has real good fishing! even from shore around the campgrounds in moonlight bay you can do well!!! I was their last week and caught these to small ones!!

I'll put in another vote for Wab. It's all catch and release, but there's some wicked pike fishing in that lake, and it's reasonably close to Edmonton
