went out this friday for mule deer with my dad, we both had drawn tags this year. we were spot and stalk hunting the tops of the coulees. we saw plenty of game. one big whitetail that gave us the slip, a nice big bull moose and plenty of muley's. my dad spotted a nice 4x3 and made a great shot on him from the top of a big ridge. it was awesome to watch the buck drop in his tracks. we had him loaded and were off again in search of another buck. maybe an hour later we came over another ridge and spotted another nice buck. we had to make a stalk as he was a little to far away. as we came over the last rise he broke off him in a slow trot, i already had the bipod setup and dropped him with one shot. awesome to share two great moments with my dad. it was a bit of a nasty climb to get him out but we managed and were on our way home before dark. hunted on saturday close to home with the bow. turned down a forty yard shot at a nice 5x5 thinking he was coming right down the trail 10 yards from my stand. what i didnt know was two guys were stalking in on a moose that i couldnt see. the buck saw the hunters and quickly trotted behind my stand not giving me a shot. i couldnt believe it one second he was coming on a string and then the next he was on the move. oh well thats archery. on monday went north to my brothers and brought out the rifle again. minutes after first light we could see three deer coming off the field. it was a buck chasing does and they were heading for the bush. we didnt have alot of time,as the does went in the bush the buck stopped. he was close to three hundred yards, fortunately i had my bipod or i wouldnt have been able to shoot. i shot and to my surprise he dropped right there. i was pretty excited we ran all the way not knowing exactly what he was. i got closer and could see a five on one side, and when i pulled the other side out of the grass i was a little surprised. he'd broken off his g2 and g3. obvioulsly a scrapper. oh well thats nature, i'm still
