First archery kill.
Decided to close the shop early yesterday, and get in my treestand. Had 2 smaller bucks come out at about 60 yards (too far for me), but decided I would take the bigger of the two if he came closer. The were feeding on my oat field which made me furious! haha. After about 20 min they slowly were walking away so I was planning on rattling to see if I could pull them back. While reaching down, I heard this guy coming out into the field at about 30 yards from me. He stared right at me about 4 times, but kept walking out into the field slowly. I drew back and once again he stopped and stared at me while I was middraw... I couldnt sit and hold it so I slowly let it back while he stared at me. I thought he was a goner, but nope, he put his head down once again and I drew. Flipped him on his back with a high shot. Baddly placed shot, but like I said, its my first bow kill and I was shakin like a #%^#$%&^.
Any Ideas what he would score? I heard I only need 125 for pope and young. I thinks hes gotta be close.

Very nice bow buck. I'm pretty sure 125 is P&Y minimum, and that deer should easily make it in.

I thought pope and young min. was either 140 or 145 but I could be wrong. Nice deer with a bow anyhow!

I thought 145 was P&Y minimum. He would definitely beat that 125 min. Either way, beautiful buck!

Awesome job! He is a P+Y for sure. All you need is 125 if I remember right. You should have a 145" deer there I would think on a quick look.
Good job with the pics as well.
Did you get some trail cam pics of him as well.

Had my camera in the bush about 300 yards away from my stand for the last 4 months, and only got a few shots of a couple small 2X2, 3X3 bucks. Nothing like this guy or even the other one that came out in the field last night. Got a ton of cow calf moose pics though. Couple nice bulls too.

No prob. Just call me and make sure I am home and you are welcome to come over. He may make it to 150 if all goes well. Looks like he is weak in length but has a decent main beam.
