I just assume that cartridge selection is absolutely *not* moot if I'm a gunnut, but is moot as hell if I'm a whitetail with a hole in my side.
EDIT: I, uh... don't actually understand anything Pines has said.

Which, in this case is a grasp of sentence structure.

Who's Justin? Just curious. As far as the thread I feel that you use what works for you and that's what I go by. Everyone has their own comfort zone with range, recoil etc so if you find a round/cliber that works for you then stick with it

That may be the best "first post" on this forum I have ever seen!
Does Pines, er.. JustinC, smoke crack? WTH dude. Smoke a fatty and relax.
Oh, and Chuck, I agree - enough with the niceness!
Who else thinks Chuck missed his calling as a Drill Sargent?

Another good post Arn, i especially liked this summary. Chuck has it all figured out at 34, i remember having it all figured out around from about 16 to 26 lol. Another 30 years of doing the same thing and he'll be that much more....um....jolly?

I had it all figured out by the time I reached 20. Around 25 I started to notice that there were a few things I had missed.
By 35 I had realized that I didn't know all that much.
Now I'm past the 55 mark and I have realized that I can learn from 25 year old people, 35 year old people and sometimes even 10 year old people.
Maybe I'm loosing it. But then again, maybe I'm just starting to figure it all out.
Here's to another 56 years of learning!

You hit the nail on the head Keg. You can learn from anyone. You or I don't have to agree with them but it is a sign of maturity to respect them for their opinion.

Quit your whining. Seriously. You follow around making back handed comments and assumptions hoping someone will listen. If you think I think I have it all figured out go back and reread what I wrote. I know what I know and will not make apologies for that.

Chuck, what is your favorite rifle cartridge combination at present? Just to put things back on track, and post pics if you have them.
Thanks, Leo

I currently hunt with a customized 270 Winchester Model 70, however I have most of the components for a 280 Remington that will have quite a bit of custom work done and will probably end up being my main hunting rifle for the foreseeable future (also a Model 70). I'm literally 2 or 3 weeks out on completing a customized .243 Winchester on a Remington 700 barreled action as well. That rifle will only get a new barrel when the one it wears is toast. Quite likely chambered for the 260 Remington.

Given the parameters in the OP YES.
Doubly so if you don't shoot anything.
