Shimano Sedona

Hello everyone. I was wondering if anyone ever used the Shimano Sedona reel. I think it is good for the money but I just want your opinion thanks!

Ive got a few of them. I like mine and have always been a shimano spinning reel fan.

they are "ok" drag system on them isn't fantastic by any means...I would buy a sedona before I bought a symetre though as I have both and I don't really see much of an overall difference between the two. If you can shell out the extra cash, go for the stradic, it is just leaps and bounds better than any of the others and it will last a long time if you maintain it.

My old man bought a Shinamo Sonora in January. It's too early to tell what the long term reliablility is though. So far it's been a lighweight and awesome and very smooth performing reel. (touch wood). One thing I would like to see change with those reels though and perhaps this was the only size that Canadain tire sold... I would like to see them make the spools a bit bigger.

i gotthe sonora 1500FA with cajun line and its my walleye set up it works great!

Thank you guys! the place I work at we are selling sonoras for likr 35 bucks but I dont like them. They are orange The Symmetre Is a sick reel though! May be I should just get that

honestly its not that sick..I have a 4000 and I hate it...the stradic is worth the extra 50-75 bucks

I bought a Symetre this spring, and I really like it. IMO it's a better reel than the Sedona, but probably not worth the extra money over a Sahara. I paid the bit extra, pretty much only because it matched my rod.

Its great reel for the money, but an "extra 50-75 bucks" is pretty much twice the price. I would buy it if I had the money to spend, but they are not really in a comparable price bracket.

sweet. Does the Symmetre come in a size 3000 or 3500?

2500, 3000, or 4000.
But do take a look at the Sahara, the only real difference is the Symmetre has a one piece bail, and is green in color. If neither of those things is too important to you, save the 20ish bucks and get the Sahara.

Just Google Shimano Reels. They have a pretty decent website; you can even compare multiple reel specs side by side.

I just picked up a Saros 4000, which is the reel just above the Symetre in the line. Got it because I plan to use it a bit in salt water and thought the sealed drag and better quality/durable gearing would be preferable. Haven't used it yet.
