Default national park fishing license

Are most of the lakes/ponds West of Calgary (K-Country area) considered national parks?

No. Most of those are Provincial parks. Banff, Jasper, Waterton, Wood Buffalo: Those are National parks.

If I'm not mistaken, a fishing license for the Mountain parks allows you to fish in Banff, Kootenay, Yoho, Jasper, and Waterton Lakes. As Newspeak posted, however, K-country would be provincial (although you should, perhaps, be careful in areas near the Banff border).

Two separate fishing licenses and two differant set of regulations.
Not hard to distinguish between the two.If your not sure ask for clear direction.
