Missed a gasket and hydro locked the engine? Can you turn it by hand?

How old is the battery? Maybe recharge overnight and try again. Double check for good connections at battery.

Was the battery outside over the winter? Are there any sides of the battery that seem to be bulging out, instead of straight?

When re-assembling, did the power shaft go easily into the bottom of the powerhead?

If that doesn't work, put a clean container under the bottom end and drain the oil, see if it is full of water from a leaking water pump.

I don't know your motor but it could be a easy as tarnished/lose connections. Go to the johnson/evinrude forum at Iboats.com and some there will be more than helpful to you . Best of luck. Rick.

when your battery is fully charged, take out a spark plug, turn it over again to see if it speeds up, rotate through all plugs looking for anything , you especially dont want any water, physics tells us you cant compress that stuff.Rebuilt several engines with snapped connecting rods from trying to compress water in the cylinder. If you can turn it over by hand with no resistance, odds are its an electrical problem, loose batt connections or dirty terminal, baking soda and a good wire brush will fix it if its an electrical issue.
