I was out for groceries today, traffic was up about 50% at Costco and at least 100% at the Co op. Didn't see any panic though. Bought 6 lbs of ground beef and 6 lbs of ground pork, made Swedish and Italian meat balls as well as Cabbage rolls. I'm set for the end.

I think we are going to be living on salmon for a while, I have some huge slabs left from last year. No halibut though 
Anyone want to lay odds on beef prices over the next month?

As for Trudeau. There is a period of time between exposure and symptoms wherein testing is not accurate. In other words if just infected today and tested tomorrow he would likely test negative. Then in a few more days to a little over a week he could get the sniffles and test positive.
He and his wife should be separate until she tests negative. Otherwise JT is just banning more alone time away from work.

1 required hospitalization, all others are home quarantined.
This translates to 3%
58%, smh.

Safeway was pretty much normal today, other than no toilet paper, Superstore was very busy, but no panic.

I just arrived back in Edmonton from a Conference in Nevada on a Westjet flight this afternoon. While I am happy to be home, I was a little surprised that there was no AHS official standing next to the CBSA Officer reminding us to self isolate once we got home. No posters at YEG, no public address announcements etc.
I have been keeping pretty close watch on the spread of the virus while I was in the US. It was interesting to see Trump's announcement banning travel from certain European countries but not Britain and not until midnight tonight. (US citizens can of course return home). I also watched the Nevada Governor's speech where he spoke of being upset with the US federal governments lack of testing kits.
I am thankful I have the option to work from home while I am in isolation but I wish more of the general populace would tone it down a little and just wash their darn hands more often.

Or is it that the people freaking out are ill prepared for the coming future and have no real direction/ leadership. Most of the general "city folks" / "nonoutdoorsy" types that get their groceries ever day or 2 from the local market that have maybe 3 days of back ups now have to figure it all out in a short period of time and are just "following the herd"
People in the public are scared, should they be I don't know, but what I do know is that the action by a certain group of federal so called leaders should be grounds for their dismissal. People in these time need information so they can at least feel like they have a bit of control.

People panicking shut down the economy and tanked the market. Not the government directly. Indirectly their communication hasn’t helped the panic.
People should take precautions...in fact the same as you take during our current flu season.
Corvid19 is more serious than current flus ...and data still supports it being under 1% mortality rate (factoring in ALL infections including all the one lacking symptoms) and yes...very serious if you are over 70 with compromised lungs.

The worst part about this is how stupid people are acting. I could understand have some extra supplies I case you get quarantined but people are talking it too far. Those guilty of excessive hoarding are just making the situation worse because it just causes people to freak out and copy

At Southside Edm Superstore yesterday at 8 PM.
TOTAL MADNESS!!! Canned soup isle basically bare, 3 - 20 pd bags of Flour left, not much Canola Cooking oil left, Fair bit of bottled water though, but lots going out the door. Meat cooler was pretty picked over, very little chicken left.
Anyways, we will just have to make do with what we've got for now.
