I'm guessing because it's in Florida. I heard on the news today that Stevie Wonder won't play any concerts in Florida any more either.

Unfortunately there will be a whole bunch of people that have had absolutely nothing to do with it, that will pay a price over this.....and a much greater price. Some will have even felt that at the very least Zimmerman should be doing time.

Those who are really freaked out about this case, seem to be a very emotional bunch. From an objective legal standpoint, there's nothing really to it. They simply did not have sufficient evidence for a conviction.
Sticking it to a waitress, sure aint stickin it to the man lol.

If you read any of the statements from the jury, you would understand what my point about Zimmerman confronting Martin was about. I understand why Zimmerman was out that night, and I understand why he confronted Martin. Was it illegal, no, was it a good idea, no, and this is what some of the jury concluded too.
I have no love for either Zimmerman or Martin. The was the right thing to do, and the outcome was the right outcome for the jury based on the law and circumstances. I also suspect that the jury would come to the same conclusion if it was Marin who killed Zimmerman due to the fact Zimmerman had a gun.
Bottom line for me is Zimmerman was not a cop, and he should have stayed in his vehicle and monitored Martin from there. If Martin came up and confronted Zimmerman in his vehicle, then he would have been justified to shoot Martin.
In my opinion, neither person were without fault here. However one is dead, and the other will be looking over his shoulder for a very long time, and the situation was fully preventable.

Your statement is one the the best ive read on the thread ,thankyou

The point....opps there it goes... you missed it.
People cherry pick what they want.
One minute she's a liar and then the next minute she's a witness that is telling me what I want to here so.. no longer a liar.
Also funny that nobody is hammering away at Zimmermans drug use, his "record" or his lies and inconsistancies.
Just sayin...
Actually... I don't know why we are still talking about this in light of the Duffy Gate developements and that memeo from the PMO regarding enemies and friends...
Morbid fascination I suppose.
And a distraction from our own dirty laundry...

Late to the party but......
Should not have even gone to trial, but I applaud the jury's decision.
Based on current/past history, when run through fairly simple statistical modelling, the death of TM has an extremely high probability of being an overall benefit to society.
It's a cold thing to say, but truth is rarely warm and fuzzy.

And you've run the numbers? Based on what, from where? Trayvon Martin was a 17 year old kid, had a life to live and it was taken by a bumbling, pathetic so called man for no reason. Why is his life given so little value?

Not really sure why his prior drug use would be an issue, or Martin's for that matter.
I did not read too much about Zimmerman flip flopping in his statements. I found his replies to be reasonable, and so did the jury from what has been posted on the internet.

Interesting thread. After reading, watching and listening to everything since the trial it is evident that:
Zimmerman was an idiot who failed common sense 101, was a wanna be cop with out a clue on how to act as an individual in this situation causing danger to escalate.
Trayvon was a kid that was getting into trouble. On this day he ran into a bit of a nutter. Instead of ignoring him he decided To confront him physically. Common sense fail.
Zimmerman is guilty of stupidity which is not criminal. Trayvon was guilty of stupidity leading to just cause under the law to shoot him.
Politics is now driving the show. From what I heard the resulting acquittal was justified. Whether there is a civil suit to sue him is another. Likely the Trayvon family would win as the onus to prove is different.

After some thought I see the prosecutor screwing up their job. While I stand by what I stated earlier had I done the job they should of used the premise that Trayvon was innocently walking home when stalked, felt threatened and tried to protect himself from the instigator. Then they may of been able to argue that Trayvon was threatened by George, took a position of defensible confrontation and George accelerated his aggression by killing Trayvon.
Might of made a difference.

yup, the prosecution blew it, takes people awhile to see that though, easier to jump on the racist etc. band wagon without looking into the facts..
