I would give Monahan an assist on that Stone goal, as that was a great battle in front of the net. I think everyone was watching that and not the puck lol.
I just turned the game on and missed the first, was listening on 960 but sounds like a better effort tonight,.

That trade might look better if Talbot can keep playing like he did tonight.

He did, probably why there isn't a line up of Oiler fans in here tonight, like last night. Funny how that works.. Good rebound Flames. Next up the Great 8 and the Caps. Will be a big test.

No need to be here. Talbot looked good tonight, but smith scored a shutout. Tough to top a shutout..

Yeah was busy didn't see any of that game, but did hear was a GT dual. Tough to not allow Mc D and Dri so must have been on point for sure.

I’ve said before and still maintain that Talbot is better than rittich. He has some kind of hang up about early shots on net but gets better as the game wears on.

One could argue that Talbot did though, by letting in less goals and getting the W.
I get it, and probably agree with the way they tabulate the stats, but have always found it odd that a team can lose but the goalie still gets a SO. Simple observation would indicate that if they lost, he clearly did not get a SO.....

No. When you let a goal in the first period it kills the shutout. A shutout is playing the 3 consecutive periods without allowing a goal. Pretty cut and dry.

I’m not sure. I just know it takes him a little while to get dialed in. But plays very well after the fact. Maybe he worked on that this summer if it’s possible. Bit of a head game me thinks.

Actually, now a days you have to not let a goal in during overtime either for it to be a shutout. Yes Smith got the shutout but lost the skills competition.

With some stuff going on at home and the game, I kinda forgot that, with the win, our record is now 2-32 (including post season) in Anaheim since Jan. 2004. It was nice to hand the Ducks their first home loss of the season.

Congrats to the flames for staying above .500 for the first 10 games. Now, could you flames fans push to get Cassie replaces? It’s tough enough watching the flames without her commentating.

Team to the North:
High Flying, Plan the Parade, Hot Start, Red-Hot, 3rd in the League, etc. etc.
Flames:
Slow Start, Flames Looking to Trade, Bad to Worse Effort, etc. etc.
Four points separates the two.

I have let my displeasure known. She is actually the laughing stock of the media down here. 2 conversations with 2 different groups of Media guys and all started to laugh.... Everyone knows it.....
She is the absolute worst in the business.. She says stuff and people just groan... Enough already.

Seriously, Talbot let a lot of 1st shots in due to the INEPT Oiler defense, letting Talbot hang out to dry. The Flames defense is superior than the Oilers for NOW.

Oh bs. He let in a lot of first shots where he had good looks at them from blue lines.

Lean yes.. Rink will happen. Not sure about all the $$$ for the Arts centre or the Field house. We had a chance to have these paid for by the Feds and blew it.
