So I HATE the Calgary Flames....and Iginla, but after what he did with trevor linden and made his team come out and shake hands with him...I have the upmost respect for him...always thought he was cocky but now I'm a fan...I can't believe I'm going to say this...but GO FLAMES GO!!!! haha

However...still like to see Ovechkin get his first cup...but either way...I'm no longer routing for the Flames to lose.

Yes the Flames did us proud tonight.
Iggy is a class individual. Though the team did everything they could in order to set him up, he still more than deserved 50 goals. We counted 3-4 times this season he gave away empty net goals on 2-1's or 2-0's.

Best line I heard tonight..

"This game has the intensity of a bubble bath"

OK.. If SJ is so good, why did Calgary take the season series 3-1?

Anyone ever see Keenan smile like he did after Iggy's goal?
I didn't think he knew how to smile.

GO FLAMES GO!!

Jamie

BTW.. Sorry to see Linden go.. Great player, Classy individual.

DSS, TL is pure class. I love the 'heart and soul' guys and he was certainly one of them. I honestly wish him well and am glad that he ended his career with the proper team. Tonight, a GREAT hockey player walks away from our game. Best wishes to Trevor Linden!

Not much of a game last night-more like a an old timers game but still good to watch. Hate to see another Canadian team out of the playoffs but it can't happen every year. Congrats on Iggy getting his 50th and he is truly a class act. The hand shake for the kid from Medicine Hat was a real tribute to a great career. Iginla is the epitome of a real captain; gritty, hard working, well spoken and a player that can take charge and get things done-I hope that the Canucks will follow suit and find themselves a true leader that can get it done-Willie Mitchell comes to mind but we'll see. Anyways, great sendoff for the heart and soul of the 'nucks-too bad Vigneault only gave him 5 min of ice time during a game that meant nothing.

Well said DSS.

Was not the most exciting game i have ever watched but will go down as one of the best for me being a huge Iggy fan.Awesome class shown by both clubs and Linden is one of the games greats....no question.

Did you hear what Linden told Iginla in the handshake.....your the best player in the game.

.

And during his interview did you hear Iggy's reply when asked what Linden said to him? Jerome as always, gracious and humble.

Iggy is definitely a class act, someone mentioned above they thought he was cocky. Where on earth did you ever get that impression.

Go Flames Go!

Glad to see Iggy get his 50th goal. The race is always so tight going down the stretch eh. It's really to bad all 3 of the Canadian west teams didn't make it in such a tight Div. I'm a Flames Fan 1st Always..... But watchin the Oilers this Last Month was exciting. Their Young Guns are Impressive Look out next season......will be an instresting traing camp I'm sure. Some Vets will be getting an eye opener....having to fight for a spot.

Last nites game gave me goose bumps. Wish Linden could of got one Last Goal. Iggy getting 50 was great. Linden and Iggy are very similar in my eyes, both Class Acts.....true Leaders. Linden will be miss in Van 4 sure.

Ok lets get the last couple games over with today. And lets get on with the RUN FOR THE CUP...........GO FLAMES GO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

All this love for Iggy made me puke a bit in my mouth... ....Iggy is good but no way is he the best in the game right now, not even in the top 5 IMO. But really what else is Linden going to say..." Iggster your the best in the game, right after Ovechkin, Crosby, Malkin, Nash......". LOL GO SHARKS GO

Best can mean a lot of things.

He is in the top 5 for sure imho.

I think as a complete player Iginla is the best.

Sniper email with your wager on the 1st round big mouth.

X2, makes me a bigmouth? I wonder what I would have been called if I starting picking apart every player from the phlegms. Aren't you just like the rest of the shame fans? Just happy to make the playoffs.
I have made 2 bets on this sight with phlegm fans. The first one was with a welcher and was not a good experience. The second bet was with a guy that had an open mind and it was a bit of fun. I lost your e-mail addy.

Oh, when your opinion is, Iginla is in the top 5, your opinion doesn't count I'll admit, he is the best in Alberta.

When I was a kid, the bruins were my team. I still am a follower, but until they get out of the mapleleaf mind set, I'll cheer for the sharks. I would say ABC, but the sharks are the only team the phlegms will be playing for the rest of the season.

I really think that they are in a 'worst case scenario' for a first round match up. The Caps and SJ have been unbelievable over the past month. I also quite enjoyed watching Thorton do what Iggy couldn't in feeding Ott a few! That was great stuff!

Good luck Flames, but you guys are in tough 3-1 season series or not.

Well, the fun starts on Wed night. I know my son will be very sorry he is going to miss those games, but with it being from the West coast, the games are to late. Perhaps we can get in the first period.

3-1 on the season... We have been in worse situations.
San Jose does have a heck of a team, but upsets seem to happen in the first round.

Someone is going to be eating a ton of words if we get lucky!!

GO FLAMES GO

Are there a lot of carbs in those words Jamie? Cuz your team is done in 5 vs the Sharks. Cue the choke symbol.......

I was hoping Trev would pop one late in the game.
Anyone notice the Flames layed off Trev in the slot in the last minute ?
He did get the pass, but whiffed on it.

I don't think he is the best either, but definitely in the top 5 forwards, probably top three. He slips to five or a bit lower if you factor in a d-man like Lidstrom and a top goalie or two. Lid's gonna win Norris AGAIN.... that has to be an all-time record.
