Myself and a buddie might join you guys. He's been bugging me to try CV this year.
The kicker is how the wifey's late Xmas party goes on Friday night.
So basically, I'm in the hangover depending catagory.

i suspect there is more snow there than in town from some folks I have talked to. We will be out there by 8 or so. If you want to meet up and go until you run out of car road I am sure we can find a spot for you to jump in the rest of the way. Most of us have trucks & 4x4 so unless it is real bad we will be driving as far as we can and if we have to walk the last bit that is ok. We can get pretty close to the lake without 4x4 but how far to my fishing area is the unknown. Lots of good places to fish along there.

Hopefully I didn't miss anyone.

And anyone else that wishes to join us.

Don't forget for those coming later the map I sent is a general area we hope to be fishing. Due to snow conditions there is a possibility we may be a little farther north than I show on the map but same road in and area. We will go as far as we can drive as I hear there is a bit of snow out that way. Most of the roads to get us close to the lake are paved close enough that it is only a short walk the rest of the way. Make sure you throw in your sled just in case. A few of us are meeting at the hiway turnoff at around 8 for anyone that wants to convoy the rest of the way.

I looked for that lake for years, was told the pike fishing was awesome, but no one had heard of it. Now I see they flooded it to make the reservoir!

Will and I will be bringing our 2 high energy hounds with us. They will romp together all day long. The more the merrier especially if it loves to run and play.

Default Bathy maps of CVR

Here are a couple links for bathy maps of CVR. One is the master one and the other one is the area I like to fish with the red circle drawn around it.

I'm thinking of heading out there monday. Please post if you can access the lake via the lease roads. I have caught several large rainbows out of there in the late 80's but haven't caught any since then. It was quite a fishery back then, I even met a guy from Hawaii who read about CV in Field & stream and had to give it a try. I used to catch very nice Pike out of there as well but have only caught smaller ones since the walleye have kinda taken over the lake. Maybe I've been fishing the wrong area. Good luck this Saturday.

That's perfect, my dog loves to play as well, so much so that a lot of other dogs get tired out and annoyed . Hopefully they can all tire each other out.

Not sure where/when we are meeting up though, I'm only the driver for Gringo and we are planning on leaving his place in South Calgary a bit after 6.
