I suspect all are near death because of the super hot spell they've been getting in Manitoba lately. Breeder was telling me they even had to install air conditioning out in the kennel.

You are right, no one around to harass me today. 'Yes Dear" is gone shopping in the big silly with the two daughters. I love them all dearly but I'd rather poke needles in my eyes than join them. Luckily they didn't invite me.

I like door #2, but it really is a crap shoot at that age. Dealing with a breeder like Scott stacks the deck in your favor. The pedigrees are awesome. He is very conscientious and knowledgeable about what he's doing.
Not a lot of breeders do an ultrasound or send you the pics. He also keeps you updated on the pups growth and activity.
I also had first pick and asked Scott to choose one for me. He spent a lot of time talking about what I expected and what I wanted to do with the dog.
I couldn't be happier with his choice. He also drives me nuts with the follow up.
He wants to know all kinds of stuff about the pup and how he's progressing. I guess he figures cause he sent so many pics before I got the pup I should do the same for him.

I know you won't be disappointed in your pup and I also know that pup has a lifelong friend to count on and enjoy life with. You both are "Lucky Dogs"

Poor Scott, I gave him a hard time about the quality of the photos. Now I'm sure he's hesitant to send any....lol.
He has also recommended the pup in door #1 for me, though I like the looks of both 1 & 2. Both very different.
All kidding aside, thanks Red.
I have been watching the Bill Hillman DVD and really like his philosophy and style. His program will influence my training the most since steadiness is a very high priority for me. Nothing worse than energy that can't be controlled.

I don't work too hard on "steady' till after I force fetch. It is easy to overload a pup with too many rules. The trick is to find the balance between fun and discipline without diminishing desire.

Easy, Right?

Definitely one of my favourite breeds. Those pups look fab. And cute as hell, of course. I agree with cat about that last one. No matter what, looks like you've got some great little guys to choose from... though admittedly, it's pretty hard to tell from cute-assed photos.

I miss having a dog in a big way. Once we're no longer in an apartment, a ;ab or a golden's on the to-do list.

Picked up my friend on Tuesday. Lots of attention required for sure. The crate training is in full force and the adventures to experience all the things he needs exposure to for a well balanced pup:

What a pup. I've already seen the video of him retrieving in the water. I wouldn't be surprised if he can write his name........in the snow anyway.

Great name too.
