Default Great Job

The best score possible. My youngest boy has been hunting with me since he was about 8 and even though he can legally carry his own weapon now he reminds me the best hunts are the ones where we remember the stalk and the fun that we had.

Great story man! Thank-you very much for sharing your pictures and story. I love the stories with the kids. I have 2 boys, 7 and 8, spending time with them is so precious it goes by so fast.

Congrats on your success hope you have many many more to come!

Congrats Tree and Shrub!!! That's very awesome!! I took my oldest (2 1/2) out yesterday "huntin' with Daddy", gave him a little pair of binos my dad had given to me, and we just drove around for a bit before dark - he (and I) had a blast just doing that - can't wait to be able to do this with him. Glad to see people getting there young ones involved in this great past time of ours.

Sorry for the delay. With the help of our good buddy, Islander, we managed to get that monster buck into the freezer last night. Gonna have to start saying nice things about him.........

Thanks so much for the comments guys, and rest assured 'Shrub' get's to read along as well. While in the field pics he seems to be doing his best impression of Moosehunter 3-0, he is still pumped about the experience.

In actuality, his first ever hunting trip was exactly 12 days before he was born, and both he and his now 5 year old sister have been exposed to the hunting culture from day one. I've lost track of how many deer have gone through the garage since they've been born, but to put it into perspective, this one was the 7th since the last day of last year.

They 'helped' me skin/prep for butchering last night. I let 'em pick the radio station, and needless to say, that was probably (hopefully) the first (and ONLY) deer skinned to Justin Beiber!

As for the next mission.......I'm unsure. We'll probably try one last evening sit in the blind with both 'Shrubs' just for fun. The hunting Gods have been very kind thus far, so I do not want to press my luck. Otherwise, the plan calls for one more deer for the freezer, then start to get serious about hunting the rut. Lot's of time left, so wish us luck.

Nice work Tree! Great to hear a story that will be the foundation for a lifetime of stories still yet to be written.

When does he get his own stick and string? Have any magpie targets?!
