Leupold Acadia 10x42, Not bad but they sure do fog up on the cold days.

what a lot of people would laugh at is having nothing and using your rifle scope in place of binos.

less expensive by comparison, but for the money they are surprisingly good.

I am very happy with my Swarovski EL 10x42 for most hunting.
For archery I use Swarovski 8x20B very compact and very good quality in such small package.
But sometimes I am packing rangefinder only Swaro Laser guide 8x30. Longest measure 2200 yards on reflecting sand hill with proper light. Good optics but not as convenient for glassing as binoculars.

As my eyesight deteriorates with age my optics need to be better to compensate...

I got a pair of Leica 10X42 HD geovids after Christmas.

Anyone need a good pair of 8X56 Optolyth Royals? Kind of big. but increadable light gathering glass. Better than the Leica HD I just bought.

nah,
i have my zeiss, but a set of bushnells i got from my grandpa that he used for hunting for probably 20 years. means a heck of a lot more to me then the zeiss, and they are the adjustable zoom ones too. not the greatest glass, but they are my favorite binos just because.

X2 for me. Got them for Christmas a few years back. Great binos and highly rated on many birdwatching sites. Those birdwatcher sites are to binos as AO is to hunting gear.

I have Burris Landmarks 10x32, bought them a few months ago so have not really used them much.
Prior to these I used a pair of Bushnell mini binos with a camera on them. Use to take pictures with it also. Last year I spilled a bottle of Elk urine in my bag and it ate the seals away on the lenses, then ruined the lenses. Had those for close to 6 years.

just my opinion but for $400- $500 you can get any one of number of very good bino's. To get great ones you need to add 1 in front. The best add a 2. But 4 my $ I use an old pair of Pentax, they serve MY purpose. Also check bird stores re; trade in and advice, the one off McLeod and Heritage is a very good source of Info and bino's.
