i find it hard to believe that there is no-one in authority that you could report this to. there must be some govt. agency that has to handle this sort of situation.

How about someone from the environment. If that thing is still leaking oil and fluids they would want to get it out of there.

I thought the Report A Poacher line could also be used for situations like this?

after a bit of a phone runaround i talked to someone at alberta environment who said they are the ones that will deal with this problem. i gave them the info. that the op posted and was surprised to hear that no-one else has reported this yet. hopefully they will at least mark the truck with a bouy to prevent an accident while they figure this out.
if the OP was playing some kind of gag with us (which i doubt) then i might be in some hot water as they took down my info as part of my report.
hope that truck doesn't spoil my wallie tags this year. lol

I contacted someone I know in fisheries and he has passed this info on to whom it may concern. They have since contacted me and are on their way out to the lake now to investigate. All this happened within an hour of my text. I will now be trying to contact the op to get more info if there is any.

Don't worry about this being a joke from Svengali. I've known him for years. He doesn't have a sense of humor, lol.

Just got off phone with ESRD.

Turns out It was a stolen truck back in December. RCMP knew about it and its location and why it wasn't reported to ESRD and taken care of is still a mystery.

The county has also been notified and a marker will be put on it soon.

They will update me as they get info and I can post here.

Good thing a boat didn't hit it and capsize....the RCMP would be partially responsible....

IIRC hazards in navigable waters are under the jurisdiction of Transport Canada.

The cops must have been busy catching real criminals one speeding fine at a time.

If idiots didn't speed they could attend to more pressing matters. 2 sides to every argument.

Pretty good Steve. Family keeping me pretty busy. Still racing and so is the boy. Plus the archery, fishing and soccer for the boy, plus all the work, it's pretty busy, but fun.

Too hard to kick the door in and check for and take any firearms when it's under 7 feet of water

When I do it will be strictly for fun locally - not planning on travelling to race this year at all. Anytime taken from work this year will be spent fishing in the new rig. No politics to deal with on my boat.

Gotta get the fun back in it. I'll travel this year still but I'm just showing up and racing and helping racers. I've done my time running the clubs. Now it's about the fun with my family.
