Have used bushnells for close to 30 years- and NEVER had a problem with them. I've put my 4200 elite beside my brothers vxiii leo and neither of us could tell the differance in clarity no matter hwo much daylight there was.

No I am dead serious. You can beat the dead horse against which scope is better if you'd like. If I had or could afford a Leupold I'd think about getting one and would probably enjoy it. But I can't and I find no problems with Bushnell's. They work great. Bullet always goes where it needs to.

Maybe, maybe not.... My dad can beat up your dad.. I shoot about 2-3000 rounds of rimfire in the summer... Not like you need a heavy duty scope for that. Centerfire I shoot about 100-500 rounds. every year.... I don't know if that's alot or not. I am a student and I don't have the expensive bushnell's either... But "obviously" I am just a POo poo head with little experience. Not once did I bash Leupold, in fact one day I may own one... But for now I'll stick with what I know.

scope
I've got mostly Leupold's on my guns, but one 300WSM has a 4X Nikon on it and has pretty clear glass - so far no troubles. Just picked up a 4.5 - 14 Nikon for a gopher gun and it is also very clear. A bit cheaper than Leupold and the warranty center is also in Toronto.

BTW, when I was your age, I bought Bushnell too. But back then they were a quality made product from Japan....just like an excellent quality Sony TV was. Now, Bushnell are made in China. In case you don't listen to the news (like so many young people today), there have been some grave situations that have occurred there of late. One involved large scale dog poisoning and the other involved killing babies with tained milk. Get the picture yet? If you still want to risk the shot of a lifetime on a buck using a Chinese made Bushnell, then go ahead.

Wow..... Bitterness. Just so you know I do watch the news every once in a while but I tend to stay away from it, "like so many young people today", as I'd rather get a university education than be brainwashed by a biased media group. This way I am free to think my own thoughts and not those of any other For eg. How awesome Bushnells are.
Bagwan thanks for the backup.
Eagleeye perhaps you feel as though you haven't insulted anyone but your wording is somewhat demeaning. Yes you may have more experience as you are double my age, I'm assuming,.... actually you know what I'm not even going to say it. Internet arguments are pointless.
Bushnell's Rock. End of discussion.
PS. Chinese production has come a long way since 1962... Watch the news GEEZ!

EagleEye54. Just to clarify, by relevence, I meant that the original poster had already made a decision and bought a Bushnell. Who knows the future on that but for his purpose it should work well. All the ones I've seen and own are made in Japan. I will not buy one with Made in China on it either. I'm not arguing about the China situation. They will probably be holding us for ransom soon enough.

Folks scopes are like buying a hockey stick. One that looks good and feels good is the one you want. I am gold ring leopould all the way but seen lots of friends make great shots with other Scopes.. Let er be.

I've got a bushnell 3200 on my 270, it works good. Takes an impressive beating without going out of line. I personaly thought the glass in it was a little better than the glass in the leupold scopes that were around the same price. In spending 3 times the money on a scope would I shoot 3 times better? Kill 3 times more animals? Lets maby try to keep the "old c*nt" syndrome to a bare minimum man.

All scopes are very good at noon and it is difficult to tell them apart.
When you get down to most difficult situations ie.very dim light conditions ,early morning , late in the evening with heavy over cast ,and looking in to brush I'd say 100 times better.
But that is just my opinion.
