I loaded 130 Hornady GMX in my girlfriends .270 wsm. She killed a whitetail doe , non trophy antelope a big Whitetail buck in Saskatchewan. All 3 were one shot bang flop. The bullets performed flawlessly .

I loaded 140 TSX for my .280 AI this year and killed 3 deer with the load. 2 were one shot kills. both deer ran about 30 yards and died. The whitetail buck i shot in Saskatchewan required 2 shots as my first shot wasn't very well placed. the second shot was right through the boiler room at about 80 yards. The blood trail looked like it was sprayed from a hose. He ran dead for 30 yrds and piled up.

Both bullets perfomed as well as one could and we will be using the same loads from here on .

I started reloading last winter and for my 3006 and I used 165gr Nosler BT with 56.5gr of IMR 4350.

WT Doe 250yds in the neck. Deer dropped on the spot. No bullet recovery.

WT Doe 200 yds in the boiler room. Deer went 20 yds and dropped. Turned the lungs to mush but there was no exit wound and no bullet recovery.

WT Doe 300 yds low in the boiler room. Deer dropped on the spot. Bullet hit a rib going in and made a mis-shaped twoonie sized hole. The bullet went through a good portion of the heart and left two bullet sized holes when exiting. No bullet recovery.

This was my first year using this ammo. There was an audible "Thud" when the bullet hit the deer and it appears that there was radical expansion upon initial contact. The bullet separated leaving two exit holes on one deer. The ammo definitely worked well but I don't know what to make of these EXPLODING bullets...lol!

Make the switch to the accubond instead.

Seems at least 50% of the people here are shooting TSX bullets and it's clear that they work. I just can't justify needing that type of performance and the price tag that goes along with it.

Large black bear:160 grand slam, 7mm stw, thru lungs, lodged in off shoulder breaking shoulder bone at the joint. I lost the recovered bullet so have no weight, but was impressive given the mass of bone it smashed.

140 tsx, 270 wsm, 95% pass thru should be stamped on the box for these little missles, my son took moose and deer, bullets likely still going.

White tailed buck: 140 accubond, 270 wsm, first shot thru both lungs at 60 yds, second thru both lungs and far shoulder at 125 yds. Both in and out. Exit on shoulder was a small hole, only slightly larger than entry hole.

General Mule Buck
.338 Win Mag
210gr Nosler Partitions
Double Lung pass through @ 120 yards...small entrance, small exit...bang flop (for some reason) Very little expansion on deer sized game at that range...but lots of energy and enough damage to get the job done....i suspect this would go very differently had I hit some bone.

Whitetail buck
.270win
150gr XP3 factory load
Double lung pass through @ 52 yards...small entrance, 1.5" Exit...deer made it 20 yards and crashed....very pleased with these rounds.

Whitetail doe
.30-06
180 Barnes TSX factory load
Center punched shoulder @ 175 yards...deer humped up and walked 20 yards and stopped...She didnt fall so I gave her another one in the ribs...she made it another 10 yards and piled up...rib shot was a pass through with both lungs gone...first shot was half ass expanded under the skin at the first shoulder...glad I followed up...not sure If im sold on these bullets just yet.

Bighorn ram, 370 yards, barnes 180 grain tsx, 300 RUM hit em in shoulder bullet exited just under spine on opposite side. He never made it out of his bed.

Buck antelope just under 400 yards, barnes 180 grain tsx, 300 RUM spined em. No bullet recovery.

Whitetail buck 20 yards 180 grain tsx at a muzzle velocity of over 3400 fps out the ol' 300 RUM hit em quartering to shot. Bullet entered front of shoulder where neck joins went length of body and lodged in opposite rear quarter. Killed him instantly, as if struck by lightening. No bullet recovery as I gave the carcass to someone else. the tsx bullet hasn't failed me yet, so I guess I'll keep on loading them till it does.

I use 168 gr TSX's out of my 300wm and haven't recovered a bullet yet. Took a white tail at 240yrds, a mulie 116 yrds and a wolf at 140yrds. The 168gr bullet pierces bone nicely.

I used a 270wsm for all my hunting this fall, with 140gr TSX's going just under 3300.

Bighorn ram, 240 yard high shoulder shot from above, took out spine and front of off shoulder, dead before he hit the ground, bullet stopped against the inside of the hide on the far side.

Mulie buck, 80 yard shot, double lung pass through, he went about 100 yards through the timber spraying blood out both sides.

Whitetail buck, 50n yard shot, double lung/windpipe pass through, he only went about 50 yards, bleeding out both sides.

Recovered TSX from ram:

I use the 375 H&H for almost everything. I got a moose at 275 yards with a head shot. Know your rifle !!! I hunt in grizz country

Well our group had a few lucky chances to test some bullets:

Mule doe. 7x57 Mauser 140 grn Accubond, hit behind shoulder about 80 yards, did not take a step. Through and through.

Small Bull Moose. 7mmSTW 160 grn Accubond, about 80 yards hit behind shoulder a little too far back, looked like he was going to try and walk off. Hit him again in the hump.....First bullet did not exit but second one did.

White tail doe. 257 Wby 115 grn Partition, hit in throat offhand at about 100 yards, dropped on the spot, no recovery.

whitetail doe. 257 Wby 115 grn Partition. High shoulder shot 60-80 yards. Down right there. No recovery.

Yep, I was thinking just that. I'm more concerned about the 180gr BT I loaded for my 300 win mag though. I think that I'll pull those bullets and reload them for my '06. I'm going to have enough 165gr & 180gr BT bullets to shoot deer with for quite awhile...lol!

I'm thinking 180gr Accubond in the WM for moose, 165gr BT in the '06 for deer and 180gr BT in my '06 when I'm hunting deer and/or moose...lol!

Here is a picture of 165gr Hornady gmx out of a 300wsm. They are extremely accurate and held together exellent (all over 160gr). They were used on 2 bull elk, mine was 150yards an one shot ( Right side). And a buddy's the left one was a 400yard shot and middle was a 100 yard shot. I was happy with them and will use them again next year..

7mm Rem Mag - 160 gr A-frame

Bull Moose - 80ish yards quartering away, in and out, went 25yrds, lungs jelly.

WT Buck - 168 yards quartering to, bang/flop, went to go get him and not there, ended up hitting too far back (oops!) in and out, and went 40yds.

2 Mulie Doe tags still left

3 WT deer, and a moose this year all shot with the same bullet - 130 gr Barnes TSX Tipped out of my Tikka 300WSM. Very impressed! The only bullet I recovered was out of the moose, which mushroomed almost perfectly. The shot on the moose was placed on the neck, and it never moved an inch - dropped where it stood.

Both deer this year taken with a 12 gauge ..3 inch mag Winchester Dual Bonds.

Both pass throughs, small hole in, tennis ball hole out. The buck got picked up off the ground it seems, and blew the heart in half.

Would have liked a recovered slug. Maybe on Elk next year

Bighorn Ram, 270 wsm, 140 accubonds, 35 yrd high shoulder shot instant fold up and landed upside down against tree that kept him from taking off down the mountain, no recovery, gave him another at point blank up brisket at 3160 fps (not really required finisher but felt right at time as one leg still doing slow bicycle and i wanted to get my hands on him pronto!), recovered under hide along rear quarter, 70.1 grains, nice mushroom...50% weight retention on point blank at fair clip. Will get a pic of it up at some point. Shot a doe at 50 yrds last year with year broadside just back of the high shoulder shot, she went maybe 30 yrds, no recovery and a ewe last year also at 310 yrds, no bullet recovery there either.

Default XP3 recovered from moose

This year was the first time I ever recovered one of these, normally they are pass throughs. Factory load 160gr, Winchester XP3, from a 7mm Rem Mag.

Took a nice bull moose with a neck shot, located on the far side of the spine, at about 25 yards. Spine in 3 inch diameter was totally destroyed, explains why he collapsed so fast.

It measures 155 grains on the scale, works out to 96.9% weight retention. Bullet design is a copper front with a lead rear core, that's what causes it to bulge in the middle. Sorry that pictures are so small, I can't get this camera to zoom in any closer.

This years whitetail was a pass through as well, same bullet.

I suppose i will chime in with my experiences.

Antelope doe, Taken at 345 yds with a 6.5-06 and 129 gr Hornady SST
Hit a little high, but still under the spine. Dead so fast I almost took a followup on one that was having a ****. She was squating and i thought it was my sick doe, then decided to confirm before shooting again. My doe went down so fast i didnt even see her after recovering from recoil. She was heaped up in the tall grass. No bullet recovered, but it did it's job well.

Whitetail buck, first shot at 3 yds, second at 15. This deer was head down and running on a game trail towards me. I planted my feet and shouldered my 308 stoked with 168 gr sierra game kings. First shot was entered behind the neck and piled up underneath the hide at the back end. Second broadside 'insurance' shot was bang on the boiler room and passed thru. recovered bullet is nothing but the jacket, all the lead is gone.

Mulie Doe was a 100 yd broadside shot with a 25 WSSM and 115 gr Nosler partition. Bullet sailed right thru the boiler room and the doe did a 200 yd dash before expiring. No recovery. Wound chanel was not huge, but penetration was impressive. Might make for a good heavier game rifle for my missus, or if i can keep it 12 years, my daughter.

270wsm 110gr ttsx, 64gr RL-17.

Caribou #1 175 yards, upper half of front shoulders, straight down. Bullet went through both and still going.

Caribou #2 75 yards, through the ribs broadside, lungs, hunched then walked 19 yards with blood pouring out. Dead in 5 seconds. Bullet still going.

WT buck 75 yards, broadside through the ribs . Hunched and then bolted , a little crooked on the run and down in about 50-75 yards. You guessed it bullet still going.

Uncles Caribou #1 (he used my gun), 150 yards, broadside through the ribs. Bolt and down in about 75 yards. Yes, still going.

All the holes were about the size of a loonie going in and a toonie coming out. Looking forward to letting a moose or elk feel the burn. So far I'm a fan of the ttsx and can't see myself using anything but for a while.

the coolest bullet i ever recovered happened this year. when the fish cop showed up to investigate the incident i saw i helped him recover a bullet in the snow with a metal detector. we then went over to where shots were fired and i saw the end of a shell casing sticking out of the snow. i cant wait to tell the whole story. i also found something really neat from the calf moose i shot. ill post a pic when i get home.

7mm Rem. Handloaded 140gr Accubond book said 3318fps but i'm only using a 24 inch tube. Therefore I am guessing i'm getting a little less velocity. Probably around 3250 +/- (Have not Chrono'd yet.)

Large whitetail doe quartering hard towards me at 200yds. bullet entered head-on in the left front shoulder, and found and exit wound high on the back between the shoulder blades, near the spine. Bullet must have deflected out the top of the back. However the heart has toasted, so not sure what happened. Doe went 15yds. No bullet recovered.

Nice 155" whitetail buck, Major uphill shot at 275yds. Bullet entered the left side neck just in-front of the left front shoulder and exited very high on the right front shoulder. No meat damage. Buck dropped on the spot.
"THERE GOES THEM NOSLERS AGAIN!" awesome performance,

I am hooked on the Accubond.
