I'm a Dodge fan, but that's still darned funny!

One peek at the interiors of any of Chryslers products since the Italians took ownership is quite telling, I don't think any other North American manufacturers hold a candle to those interiors.

Kool unit, just didnt think a Vietnam era whirly gig would still be fully active given the hawks class have great lift capability. The service life cant be stretched much longer.

Good pilots help:

While many of the Chinook airframes are pretty long in the tooth, one can still order them new.

You talk to most crew chiefs and Warrant Officer's and they all agree the cCH47 is the best chopper we got! Hell they still use Huey's in active service. If I had my choice I'd take a CH47 to ride in any day. As far as lift capacity, the UH60 can only carry 9000pounds of cargo when configured properly where as the CH47 can take up to 28000#, its MTOW is about double at 50K. As far as service life look at the M2, M113, C130, M16A1 / A2's, Still plenty of those relics around and I don't see them leaving any time soon.

Lol driver trained on 113 , relic is the correct term . Our 432 is very similar so we got a quick driver course in baor when the your lads were out on saultu /fally ranges. Oldies still functional in a support capacity not sure id ride point with a smile.

When I was in Iraq I saw the absolute best place for a 113....They used it as a road block going into our main base. Load a 50 up top and place her broad side in the middle of the road. I saw some Rangers rolling 113s downtown once... I dunno about those light guys but me being mech would rather walk than ride inside those tin cans. I think they got screwed by their command....

When does the next Red Flag start in Alaska?

U.S. military aircraft fly over Alberta all the time.

Foreign powers also fly over.

Anyone remember the Indian airforce landing in Edmonton with those old Jaguars?

These U.S. flights are in transit to and from the Red Flag ops in Alaska.

There are also block flights we do not talk about.

Cat: do you remember when that U.S.A.F. C-130J flight returning to Baltimore Md. from Fairbanks Alaska landed in Ft. Mac and the locals got into a flight with the aircrew.?

Maple Flag will no longer exist within the next year or two.

The action is out of Fairbanks and Anchorage.

One of the best places to check out what lands in Alberta is a the Shell station at YEG. They are a NATO friendly gas station.

Get on the internet and see what is happening north west of us.

Here's an article on the CH47/G, just delivered by Boeing to the SOC.
