Fish, the swede saw blades are usually quite low cost and very sharp out of the box. Not sure of the copied ones coming from the far east these days, they need to talk to Sweds on proper manufacturing techniques using good steel.

Hey Ken,
How big of a battery does that use? Do you have the charger for it?

I am not sure what happened here, Dad must have been pretty angry to go all hulk on it.

Gasoline iirc

google-

The US blowtorch was independently developed with a distinctive flared base and was fuelled by gasoline, whereas the European versions used kerosene for safety and low cost.

I remember watching dad and others use them to warm up engines in the winter. Or thaw out pipes and such. They could also be used for a lot of other things, like melting babbat for example, which I have never seen done btw.

Ken is right, they used gas or kerosene. The instructions with ours said to use white gas (also called Naptha or now, camp fuel) or kerosene.

They worked a lot like a pressurize gas lamp and used the same fuels, except they handled leaded fuel better. Still wasn't recommended though because they both used generators and leaded fuel would plug the generator pretty fast. Like in a few hours.

All the other tools except #3 and 4 up from the bottom are all familiar to me.
Dad owned the same tools and I used most but not all of them at least once.

Very cool collection Ken.

They are neat, but just not my thing. Right now they are just taking up space, and I am trying to clean.

I kept a few things that Dad and I used, like his brace and bit, some planes. A lot of this stuff is not from him, it can go away. I just have no idea what to ask for any of it.

Hope this pic shows up.

Got an old rusty saw about 10 years ago without a handle. Redone the metal, made a new maple handle, and now proudly display in my shop...

That 'hog splitter' may be a good second choice if you cannot carry your magnum handgun to deal with problem grizzly bears. I think the bear might get the message quicker than with bear spray.

My son uses a 110year old mattock on rotted stumps. Lol

He has a new handle since the original one broke this year

He asked "do ya think it's still on warranty?"

That's probably a good use for a tool that's mostly obsolete, I use mine occasionally for beheading ducks and geese and would make a good weapon I suppose or a Halloween prop lol, Seasons Greetings to you.

Nice! Do you refinish them, or leave them as is?

Forgot about this old one, has been hanging stuck in the wall beside the garage man door since I built the garage in 2006
