It amazes me when people are totally ignorant to facts, yet so eager to jump in with mouth wide open and foot soon to follow. It's like getting in a boxing ring talking tough, but never thrown a punch in their life.

I wish I could shoot deer like your better half......

Thing is I don't break the rules, I don't threaten or call them names. I post facts, I speak of my experiances. All they can do is delete my comments and I can make them faster then they can find them.

I love FB.

I do this sometimes as well.

I have been fortunate over the years to shine a light on specific cockroaches. Some have been contacted and dealt with by their IP and some have had a visit from authorities. While no charges have been laid to date, the fact that someone in a legal position to maybe do something contacts you is somehow disturbing to them and very comforting to me.

I'm also a client of Alberta Taxidermy and I have nothing but good things to say about their work. Don't let the idiots win.

Battle vs war

Online, it is best to do what keg does. Post facts and links and ignore the emotional side of it. Don't get into the juvenile name calling or boasting.

Face to face, when they are put on the spot and embarrassed in front of their peers, the result is much different. Know of what you speak, respect will follow.

As the "resident hunter" in my place of work, I have been able to interact with a lot of non-hunting, animal-loving people. Most eventually expressed a tolerance and respect for conservation-based hunting that did not exist before. Not a single one has posted anything related to this lion nonsense on FB.

Fun side note, I reported one of the comments calling to hang me to Facebook, and they responded that 'it didn't break Facebook community rules'....

the only person who would say something bad about hunting that i know is my sister. she got into me one day for posting hunting pictures on facebook, i then told her that when her daughter expresses interest in hunting i'd teach her how to hunt when she was old enough. she didn't talk to me for a couple of weeks

Sweet deer, BTW.

I posted a picture of me cleaning a doe I shot last fall and the subsequent steak dinner... It was reported rite away but to this day thru the death threats and name calling FB won't take the picture down and I still get comments 10 months later on it ranging from "when's dinner, I'll bring beer!" To "atleast you eat what you shoot"...

My sister posts a picture of TPB's in the rippers with half a boob showing out of focus in the blurry edge of the shot and they pulled it down allmost as quickly as it went up.... Go figure...

Helps that Zuckerberg is a hunter.

"At least you eat what you shoot" haha love that one.... to me that is inviting a 2 hour discussion on conservation, terminal performance, field care and recipes. Most people are swimming in info by the end, some ask me if I studied wildlife at university. "Nope, just a hunter"
