Not really any misinformation. Guy jumped out of the truck shot a bull elk on posted land. ( white dodge ram )
Neighbouring seen / heard , guys took off before he could get a license plate. Elk was left dead. Fish and wildlife gutted and loaded the elk

Five years ago he had a bullet go through an outside wall of his house and come to rest in an interior room. While he had family over. Including young grandchildren.

Default report on the incident

Alberta Fish and Wildlife Enforcement
1h ·
Pincher Creek Fish and Wildlife officers are requesting the public’s assistance in identifying the subjects involved in a poaching occurrence.
On October 30, 2021, Alberta Fish and Wildlife Enforcement Services received a report of an antlered elk that was shot and left on private property, south of Pincher Creek. Officers determined the incident occurred at approximately 11:18 a.m. that day. A mid- to late-2000 white Dodge pickup truck with at least two male occupants encountered a herd of elk on Township Road 52, locally known as Kerr Road, 11 km south of Pincher Creek in WMU 302. Witness accounts describe the passenger of the truck shooting at the elk from a fence post in the ditch as the elk were crossing the road onto private land. The shooter is described as an older male with white hair.
It is unlawful for a person who has killed or is in possession of a game bird or big game animal, other than a mountain lion or bear, to abandon, destroy or allow any of its flesh to become unfit for human consumption.
Anyone with information relating to this incident are asked to contact the Report a Poacher number at 1-800-642-3800 or send information through the Report A Poacher web page at https://www.alberta.ca/report-a-poacher.aspx

Sounds to be a sure area to nab a poacher. 2 years in a row and few days apart. Am I reading these right?

Ditto. I hope they catch them, and prosecute them fully. This nonsense is frustrating and embarrassing.

An arrest of three people has been made with court appearances in March. No names that I could find so far.

The 3 people charged is a fact.
Would be nice to see some names.

Alberta Fish and Wildlife Enforcement Service would like to thank the public for their help into the October 30 poaching incident, near Pincher Creek. As a result of a call from a member of the public, three people have been charged and are due to appear in provincial court on March 15, 2022. (More information about the incident can be found here: https://www.facebook.com/AlbertaFish...52903456883701)

This case highlights the vital role the public plays in assisting fish and wildlife officers with their investigations. Often, one small piece of information is all that is needed for officers to successfully investigate and conclude a file. The Report A Poacher line is toll-free 1-800-642-3800. Callers may remain anonymous if they wish. Callers that provide information that lead to charges may be eligible for a cash reward.

I’m not sure what this means. But that comment was from last year’s incident.
