About 3 metres on a beauty whitetail buck that walked right to me during rifle season. Someone had pushed this one so he was focussed on the guys on the next property. Just luck.
Called in a coyote while bow hunting. We got bored and after spotting a coyote, I started to use a lip squeak. Poor thing came charging up the hill. I remember my buddy whispering, "Holy f***, he's coming right in." It could not have been more than about 6 feet from us when I let loose. I hit him broadside but what was strange is that there was no yelp or movement. He went down like he was headshot with a rifle.
8 yards on a black bear.
It was my first time being in a stand with a bear at the bait, first bear ever. I set the stand to close ( 10 steps) when I shot it was just about straight down and only got one lung. Happy ending though, put another arrow into him 100yards later and that was all she wrote. Helluva rush, and a scary learning experience
Well to add to all every bodies great stories, My buddy and I were calling coyotes with mouth calls and we watched a yote walk right up to us, I had to lift my gun over my buddy as the yote was going to pass us, I shot it at 3 ft from my barrel all on video. WAY TO COOL
I was in some thick bush calling and my dad was positioned in a strategic position with the 223. The Coyote came running through the willow and I shot from the hip.
point blank if i want to reach a foot. i was setting up to call off some round bales when i heard a snore grunt sound i looked over the bail i was sitting on and there was a maingie dog sleeping at the base of the bale. i got a lough out of it
Closest deer with a bow was 7 feet...closest deer with a rifle was last year when I called in my buck from 400 yards and couldn't pull the trigger until he was withing 15 yards. He was not happy to find me where he thought his girlfriend would be...

Called a female yote in from 250 yards. She jumped the fence and nearly landed in my lap. Lip squeeked and dropped her on her can at 2.5 to 3 yards. Had another one in the same spot with the .223 that I swear was less than a yard off the barrel.
Set up on a knoll covered with really tall grass. Wearing my gilliesuit.
