They are playing well. I like the line combinations right now, especially McLeod between Kane and Perry. Hopefully McLeod sees how you have to go to the blue paint and not play on the perimeter all the time. Though it is working well with his speed in to retrieve pucks and get it to the other two.

Not sure where they went wrong but they played a hard nosed solid game.
Gonna need to play atleast 16 of those games in the playoffs. Stranger things have happened.

Only 1 point but to Dallas

It seemed like the Oilers did everything they could to lose.
Their heads just didn’t seem in the game fully.

I’m not sure it’s just bad luck. They just seem to have lost the edge… missing a step. Not playing as well as a team. But this game is hard to watch.
They can do better and must to make it past the first round.

I think that qualified as a shellacking.

I’ll say it again. I know it’s a team sport but Edmonton ain’t making it past the first round with the goaltending they have now.

Was it goal tending or poor positioning and plays on the puck by Oilers D.
I thought Nurse was playing like a smuck. Who pinches when the penalty is almost up?
He was playing like a $500K fill in. He is paid $9,250,000. He is horrible.
I need one team to root for in the playoffs. This is depressing.

It was not about goaltending. It was about poor puck management and bad decisions. In fact, as of today, the Oilers appear to be going with what they have in goal for next year. They did not address the goaltending at the trade deadline. Because they (and almost all other hockey analysts) thought it was good enough. Now, that could change down the stretch and into the playoffs.

While yes I agree Skinner or Pickard isn’t an Oettinger or a Markstrom, last night was anything but our goalies fault. Nurse wasn’t only a -3 the decisions he made directly attiributed to a puck in our net. Clueless would be a start. I don’t understand why his ass wasn’t sitting on the bench. What was with the pass to Dallas in the last 20 seconds inside our blue line? While I hope we can get through the first round I’m not holding my breath. We are soft on boards often shying away from a hit apart from a few individuals and can’t play in our own zone. Yes I know we are not built to be a bone crushing team but for heaves sake finish a check when you have a chance. I do think our goalies can get us there but they need the TEAM to play infront of them. No 4-1’s, no back door tap ins, play smart hockey.

It’s all a ruse to lull the opposition into a false sense of security

good game, 2 points for the Oil and 2 assists for McDavid needs 1 more now to reach 100
The BOA is not what it used to be.

I have been critical of the goaltending but you got to give credit where it is due. Good game for Pickard and 2 points to boot. The Canucks also lost which is good to see. Hope they play the Kings in the playoffs which is very likely. The Kings have been giving the Canucks the fits this year.
