Shockey's shows and production values are top-notch, but the farther he gets from home the less it interests me.
X2, I like his Yukon hunts because that is my dream, the third world hunts don't interest me

X3, Talking moose likes local hunts and the farther north the better.

Personally, I like it all, and for different reasons.

The episodes that feature a hunt we can enjoy in Alberta get the thought process going on upcoming seasons, and push me to think of future plans and put in for draws I may have put little or no thought into previously. They also keep the passion for hunting alive during the long offseason, and some times bring up memories of great hunts I have had in the past.

Seeing a hunt that isn't available in Alberta, but may someday be within my reach gets me thinking of the future. It kindles my desire to daydream about a place I may plunk down some cash and travel to for a new experience. Vancouver Island bears and Hawaii for axis deer come to mind.

The obscure and truely exotic hunts are appreciated because I know there is a very slim chance I will ever do that myself. Instead I will enjoy these hunts vicariously through television.

Like to see those flat landers pull icy foothills haul roads for a winter without spinnin' out and keeper between the ditches while dodging speeding pickups head on.
....and don't even get me going on "Deadliest Catch".....I mean,I do like Mike Rowe and Dirty Jobs but c'mon ...10(?) seasons of crab fishn when a 2hr documentary on the industry would be far more imformative and entertaining?
Deadly my azz, they're on 100 ft+ steel ships,I've had far more near death experiences on a 45' lobster boat, guaranteed!
Well ... that was kinda my point. Didn't make it through the only episode I sat down in front of. Thought maybe I should go back to see what I missed. Then I woke up lol. Workin' in the patch now and damned near tired of mud let me tell you! Wore out a set of chains this summer!

If you know a girl who hunts without makeup on, tell her you are bringing an HD video camera. Chances are, the makeup goes on.
