Thumbs up Wow! What gun would Rain as the KING!

Man if some one where to do a count on what caliber would be the most used be VERY!! interesting on what has been posted on this post. There's a bunch of guns posted by everybody that they dont have no more and newer calibers that just started to come out would be cool to see what gun was used more to shoot big game. What gun do you think would rain as KING of all big game calibers. WOW!! lot of different guns used which one is the most popular????. I just cant count that high LOL.

I feel inadequate... I used my 30-06 exclusively from when I first started big game hunting in 1981, then switched to a 270 WSM in 2004 which I have used exclusively ever since. I also have a 338 WM, which I've hunted with but not shot anything with, and a lever 44 mag, which I'd like to use at some point.

Default a few

30-06 x2
25-06 x2
257 wby x2
7mm-08
300 win
338 federal
338-06
338 Lapua
375 h&h
7mm rum
7mm Yukon
270 win
.54 muzzleloader
That is all I can think of right now.

I have hunted with many more that have not been sucessful. 7mm WSM, 7 rem mag, 280 rem, 303, 6.5x55, 30-338 win mag, 458 win mag, 270 win, 300 wby mag, 300 savage, 3 x 300 win mags, etc...
I have also packed a few 338 win mags that never fired a shot in the field. Seems like I never have any luck with them.

For a while I had enough I could take a different one everytime I went out, and they may have not had more than one trip. I downsized now... Quality over quantity!

I'm a vanilla shooter I guess....

.308 Win
7mm-08
.300 Win Mag
7mm Remington Mag

And that covers it. I used a .308 for the longest time, only started shooting the other 3 in the last 6 years. If I had to pick only one do it all calibre, I'd be torn between the 7mm-08 and the 7mm RM. I like my 7s......

My list is darned short but full of the tried and true. I'm coming off a 15 year hiatus so maybe I'll expand it soon enough.

.308
30-30 mostly
30-06
This fall I plan on giving the venerable 45-70 a chance to get on the list.

Colin.

.303 savage
.303 british
6.5x55

Favorite has been the .270 hands down, the 6.5 is a real sweatheart that kills way better than its minimal recoil might lead one to believe though.

I'm too old to even test my brain that far back. But today, I'd say a 30-06 (and I don't even own one). And of course my beloved .444 Marlin. I think that I could survive and put meat on the table with those 2.

270 Win - a few deer (maybe 6?) and a moose
308 Win - 4 deer
Pretty boring I guess.

In the future will be a 7MM Rem Mag, and I look forward to packing a 32 Win Spec through the bush as well.
