Some get so deeply convinced they simply will not listen to any other voice(s) of reasoning and being so deeply narrow minded makes for a dangerous following.

The Turd knows the game all too well.

In today's society, there are many people that are easily manipulated, the liberals take advantage of this on a regular basis, from their anti firearms agenda, to the anti Alberta oil agenda, and especially their handling of the pandemic. And anyone following this forum for any time, will see that there are AO members that have bought into some of the liberal propaganda, even though some claim to be conservatives. They use financial handouts to manipulate some people, free/legal drugs to manipulate some, and fear to manipulate others, and many don't even realize that they have been manipulated. And it will only get worse, as fewer and fewer people think for themselves, and instead believe the propaganda.

And then there are the ones that are really good at the game kinda like a wolf in sheep’s clothing.

They set out strong vibes up to and including anti liberal signs, flags, decals even go to rallies etc but when it comes to ticking the box the liberal true side comes out....

Oh well the Turd did a cabinet shuffle now to see what he has up his sleeve when he comes to the table....hopefully gets punted out but what then

Exactly, many will whine and cry about what Trudeau has done, and then they will vote for him again.

The mistake is clearly evident amongst AOF.

Conservatives can’t stop trying to fight amongst themselves. Dividing themselves. Doing and saying stupid things that it’s off the general population of voters.

If and when we can stay united on key base conservative bales and not devolve into bickering… then the movement will be strong and stay put for some time.

There will always be a certain percentage of voters that align with a party and will never vote differently.

That means conservatives need to target those that are always on the fence.

That means providing a clear and concise message. What historically has resonated well with people is either a convincing argument to save the economy or a convincing argument why the current government has insurmountable problems and a change/reset in politics is needed.

What turns them away is a strong right wing social agenda that most don’t align with.

The progressive conservatives of Doug Ford is doing a fantastic job of keeping voters happy. The opposite can be said for the PP party that has won nothing but split the vote. That group must be paid for by Justin as all it does is give the Liberals more seats.

Those on the fence are always looking for what benefits them the most. We just need to convince them through facts that massive deficits and debt is their responsibility to pay off…. Not the seniors or folks near retirement.

It the younger…longer term employee in the work force whose going to see their wage power eroded by taxes to pay debt and mounting costs of the green revolution while oil and gas GDP plummets.

Conservatives should push a made in Canada solution including the long term plan and show only we can make it work.

Then get elected.

Then not have stupid controversies or scandals like the Liberals love doing and only pointing to those of others.

It would be so easy if voting was based on logic and reason. The simple fact is that many people only care about handouts now, they don't even care about next year, so any arguments about responsible spending, and saving the economy ,mean nothing to them. They don't even care about the future of their children or grandchildren, so you can't use logic and reason to get them to vote a certain way. You can show them a plan to reduce inflation and interest rates, and if the liberals throw them a little cash now, they will vote liberal.

Trudeau unclear about why former ministers got the boot

It was more a total remake than a simple shuffle.

In the re-branding of cabinet Wednesday, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau promoted seven rookie MPs to his front bench, gave the boot to seven ministers and then reassigned the majority of cabinet roles.

While the prime minister denied that such a sizeable shakeup was a signal that 2023 hasn’t been going well, the occasion, as CTV put it, was certainly the federal political event of the summer in so far as it will have ripple effects in the months to come.

That, of course, was the plan from the beginning—to have a cabinet team in place to take on a sudden election.

I agree. Buying votes is very much often a successful re-election strategy for the current party in power.

There comes a point when concern over the future does rise above a freebie today. Especially is the opposition successfully shows the government is just spending your money to put you in more debt.

I do get a feeling and polls are also showing that Canadians have had enough of Trudeau.

Fingers crossed.

I think we can all agree that concern over the future, in the eyes of eastern voters, enough concern to get past the woke, fear-based rhetoric over whatever the crisis of the day is, will be where this probable election will be won or lost.

When the polls close in the Maritimes, we will know if it is more of the same same.

Unfortunately, it will take things getting to where many people can't afford to pay for their essentials at the end of the month, before they even consider the economy or financial platforms. But by then it will be too late for many people.

That's the trick right there... Keep people reliant rather than resilient. Much easier to manipulate that way.

Default Getting back to the post...

If these moves are all for an election run up what do you think will happen? Here is my guess, there have been 2 possible candidates mentioned here already, Anand and Freeland. What the libs need is a few more, to make a very good campaign and convention. When the winner is declared, all candidates plus the winner will all hug and hold hands vowing to make Canada better blah, blah blah. The winner and it won't matter who will stand up in the house make a rousing speech and take a limo to government house to meet the Governor General to call an election because he/she needs a mandate from the people.
BTW research has shown, that once peole have voted for a party they stay with that party forever. If you believe the research you need to attract first time voters, youth and immigrants. How is the party of your choice doing with those 2 groups?
The administrator of this group is correct, there is no place for personal attacks.

Well there you go, just like China or North Korea. If you control the media, control the currency, comtrol peoples ability to travel, and you disarm them , so that they can't resist, you have achieved total control of the population.

So true, and they will fall into the waiting arms of government assistance programs, with attached strings and all...

My son is 20. He gets what’s going on. Every couple months he gets a few hundred bucks for one thing or another in his bank account.

“Free Money” is a powerful enticement.

Thankfully, we have joint accounts. His mom stole the last series of deposits for textbooks in the fall
