I believe it was taken around the base. We had an outfitter come to our place to get permission to hunt. Said he was escorting the guy with the Premiers Tag and he was looking for a 400+" bull elk. I wondered afterwards if there was a Premiers Tag and a Ministers Elk Tag? If I had the Premiers Tag I would be going for Goats, but that's just me. Before you all crowd my message board with hunting access requests, the elk haven't shown up at my place and they didn't shoot it on my place.

I agree. It's a nice bull, but I'm not sure I'd personally shoot that one with the Minister's Tag so early in the season. Just my opinion, of course.
Hope the Hunter had a great experience and enjoys the freezer full of meat!

No it certainly won't net 400", but I believe that it will score higher than many people realize.

Really? That left side is pretty weak except his fronts. Maybe I'm missing something.

The hunter looks pretty happy with it, score is irrelevant at that point.

Absolutely! He looks happy so good on him!
I wish I looked that happy after ****ing away 3 weeks of my life (that I'll never get back) chasing elk down there last year. I finally shot a 320"+ bull out of frustration and never even took a picture. Antlers are laying in the shop and I could care less as it was such a s**t show. Wish I looked as happy as he does.

I feel for you...after hearing about the very first hunts there I decided I wouldn't put my name in that hat ever, not even if it was all expenses paid trip.

Well it appears to have long main beams and a decent frame, however big scores come from tine length and albeit a nice bottom end it doesnt support 375, imo. No by a long shot. Anyways it is great that the hunter is happy, thats the most important thing. I have had a few decent draws two for mulie and one for a great zone for moose, i was picky, there was some outside factors and I ended up with nothing after passing on some good animals. Congrates to the happy hunter.

No idea. I am not an Elk guy but I do know enough that if I was in that spot with 3 months left of hunting I would have walked. Circumstances were probably different than mine would be. I am sure he took 2 weeks off work and did what he could for the time he had. It doesn't matter as it is none of our tags. That bull has some long beams on him. They do not sweep back like a normal elk and I think are deceiving. Tine length is decent on the bottom and the top on the one side is super weak. Yes the other side makes up for it somewhat. I'd love to know the score and hope we are all wrong and its a 380 bull but I don't think it is. I think it would be lucky to push 360 but like I said I do not know elk that great. Either way it is nice that the pics got put out so we could all see.

I believe that the people that are posting that it would be lucky to net 300" are badly misjudging the antlers because of the long main beams and wide spread. I believe that these features make the tines appear to be shorter than they are. I would be very surprised if the antlers don't score in the 350 range.
