Dropped him at 270yrd, first shot was through and through hit front shoulder exited lower spine top opposite shoulder (steep up hill shot no oragans hit). Put a finisher in him from a foot away the recovered bullet was the finisher. So much energy transfer at close range that going 2964fps a 150 etip did not exit and was fond between the hide and meat

7mm-08 with a 140gr TSX threw both shoulders of a bull moose around 250 yards, recovered sticking out of the hide on the far side.

300gr Winchester XP3 12g slug. Muzzle velocity = 2000fps.
Shoot a moose at 40yds brood side, took out the lungs and was lodged under the skin on the far side. Moose went aprox. 30 yards before piling up.

Thanks munyee, I've tried etips but never taken any game with them. Looks like a good performer.

7mm-08, thanks for posting that. Looks like good moose medicine for my handloads.
