Horseshoe was firmly planted in the right spot for the Oilers tonight. Gift PP for Dri to score, haha Muzzin didn't touch the Oil players haha.
Oh well take it when you get it. Slowed the Leafs down for us Flames I guess, good job Oilers.

They need to come out like they did in the 1st. A bit of run and gun and create some chances. 2nd period was very safe hockey.

With that loss I now have a Leaf logo as my Facebook profile picture for three days. I feel cheap and dirty.

So what's the move next game for goal? I get Koskinen is the man but at this point, I would think you have to give him a night off. Not only for the rest, but his confidence has got to be getting low after that showing yesterday, even if no fault of his own.

You leave Kosk in net for Toronto and with any luck he performs well in both games. If you gonna go to the back up it might as well be against Ottawa. No need to throw him in front of an offensive juggernaut that is TO.

Competition fir a backup goalie is extreme right now. The leafs lost their No.2 for a good time. They’ll be in the hunt but they have Hutchinson. Edmonton is in trouble I think. The waiver wire will be hot for 2 Canadian teams. And if they do grab one, he might have to quarantine for two weeks. Taxi squad goalies are a hot commodity right now.
I agree, role Mac and Leon every other shift and let teams try to keep up.

Tired of the Defense thing. Who gives a crap anymore. It’s not gonna change this year and I want to see goals. I say let Dri and McDavid light it up !!!!! Our Defense and goalie suck and we let in in 6 goals great perfect 2 less than then the dynamic duo scored cause they combined for 8. Time to play some 80’s hockey.

Yes!! Finally, a winning plan!!

But you gotta get Bessie to sign off on it. Good luck, I really see the potential, finally, after 6 years McD is going to get turned loose! This totally stinks of a Cup win!!

Uh.... I was there for those hi flying games.

Problem is.... you play fire wagon hockey with:

Montreal... we’ll lose cause they can wheel too
Toronto...... same
Winnipeg...... same same
The Nucks... same same same

We’d kill Calgary with that strategy and we’d destroy Ottawa.....

Gotta be better than three teams to make it to the show boys...
Plan won’t work.

I like it.

I'd like to get Patrick Russell in there on the wing somewhere, but I'm not sure where. Either Nygard or Archibald would have to come out, and I don't know if that swap works for me. Thank Gord the Khaira experiment only lasted one game.

Jones is getting another chance as the puck mover with Larsson. Here's hoping he can make it happen. Koekoek in for Russell I'm OK with for sure. I'd love to see Bouch get a shot though, even if it means dressing 7D and 11F.

Anyone else surprised that Chiasson hasn't gotten another shot???? I wonder if he'd clear waivers...

Same here.

You can definitely see the upside and how well he thinks the game. I'm torn as to what to do with him. I'd like to see him playing full time. There's going to be some growing pains, but I think I'd take him over Russell, Koekoek or even Larsson at this point.

I think I'd sit him next game against Calgary, then put him in for the next 2 against OTT with the standard 6D and put him out for a regular shift. If he continues to show well, then he forces you to make a tough call and take a regular out of the lineup. The only risk is that 3 games against OTT isn't exactly a true test of his ability to play in the NHL. So maybe if Bear is still out, he plays against Calgary too.

I'm liking Lagesson's game. Solid, stay at home Dman that makes smart plays with the puck. He's the guy that's going to take Larsson's job.

Really happy to see Pool Party finally get a couple, and the reaction of the bench told me a lot about where he stands with with his teammates this time around. Hopefully it builds some confidence and he keeps rolling.

Pretty solid game again, but they were playing OTT. I didn't see what happened on the last goal that Stuetzle was so wide open, but for crying out loud, they need to put an end to those breakdowns. It doesn't matter it's 4-1 against OTT, they have to be better.

I feel for OTT. It's going to be a very painful season for them. The mental slog of getting up and going to the rink every day and trying to stay positive and competitive will be a monumental challenge. The only silver lining is it's a short season.

I think Ottawa could be ok if they got some goaltending. Matt Murray looks awful.

I say if there is room on the roster for him to play against Calgary you put him in. Don't rush Bear, he as been suspect so far. Bouchard needs to get into the BOA game to see what he has.

Although the flames are only marginally better then Ottawa.

Bouchard had a good game but it was A game as in only one. They need to stay the course and develop him proper. No need to rush. No need to play him up the line up or excessive minutes.

They Oilers are finally doing right by there young up and coming talent and I sure hope it stays that way. It will pay off in the long run. All to often we have rushed a player to save the day only to break him, trade him, and then watch him succeed elsewhere.

I see no need to play Bouchard against Calgary on the weekend. Let him watch from the press box. He will have a different view of the game after finally having played one. Lots of value for him watching. Then put him back in against Ottawa and let him apply what he seen from the press box.

End of the day it’s Coach and Managers call and for the first time in a long time I am confident they will do what’s best for the player and that in turn will help the Oilers in the long run.
