Dickson Dam caught fish are now called Lake Whitefish. I caught mine several miles down river before the or right as the dam was being built. I have the Provincial record for RMW. It is 6.9 lbs.

I played for the Red Deer Riggers for 3 years...a semi-pro team which some of us got paid to play, about 7 of us.
I fished 3 summers the Red Deer River and know it with the back of my hand. (unless it has changed). Which I'm sure it has.
I can outfish all you bozo's in the RDR anywhere..anytime. Bring it on!
I can cast out the window and still out-fish you. Something to be said for knowing a river...even it has changed.
p.s. More than happy to take you out fishing if you want to catch 2+ lbs RMW...they are easy.

I caught this RMW when I was 12 years old from a stocked trout pond, probably bigger than the one this troll is bragging about (I bet he never even caught this so-called fish he is bragging about anyway). stop bothering the guy though, if he wants to be a fool let him be, he is just making himself look foolish

2lb RMW? Jeeze, I don't want to get laughed at by my friends. I would only show it off if it is bigger than the 7lber I got.

Sure looks like a Rocky Mountain Whitefish, but has a weird build to it, weird that you would catch one in the NSR though, where abouts on the NSR?

Yup my guess is that is a really fat Rocky Mountain whitefish, never heard of them being caught in the NSR anywhere near Edmonton though. Probably a rare catch

Tons of whites above Rocky on the nsr. The fish in the pic is a rmw, looks like he was caught with a pickerel rig with maggots.

the water treatment plant you are referring to is the Anthony Henday water treatment plant. This is not a waste water treatment plant it is for drinking water.

That's a worm hanging out of his mouth. Never tried maggots on the NSR.

Good for you and yes you do if you caught that 6#er have the bragging rights
on your questions
I have had memebership and have held/hold WR's in both of the North American Fish records keepers
and here is where your record WR would of being recorded if you had know about these record keepers.. http://www.igfa.org/
and http://www.freshwater-fishing.org/index.php
on people catching World records and not recording them ..my opinion is yes yes yes
and yes there is a chance of it not making it ..
ah such is the Circle of Like as everything that dies is eaten by another ..
but I believe it made it ... like you
but if you had had todays cameras and took a picture with a measuring tape you would also get a WR(C&R) and Provincal record as C&R is part of the records
Thanks for sharing
David

I had no clue where to take it for authentication, no time to have it taxidermy, and the big fellow was looking at me with very sad eyes. Plus I was fishing with a resident fishing license when I clearly should have had an out of province license. (Hey I was a broke college kid). ! So, after keeping it out of the water for entirely too long, I nursed it back to swimming away to be free and pass on it's genes. I told my uncle about my catch, and he said, "oh great, we have a brain dead trophy whitefish out there". I felt horrible and still do all these years later!
He swam away fine.....do you think I hurt him? I nursed him back for some time, with several attempts to swim on his own, and made sure he was pretty strong when I finally let him loose.
And, when you release a record fish...do you have bragging rights that you own the provincial record? I say yes! !!!

Are pool noodles used when fishing out the window?
If so, I want the blue ones to match the truck
Do I have to Get a permit from f and w to discharge my line from a vehicle?
What if I just lean my Abu against the tire of my truck?
Is there a permit to allow a guy to have more than one girlfriend at a time??
Anyone know the cost and where to get said permit?

This is a Rocky Mountain Whitefish I'm pretty sure, I caught 19 inch RMW this spring by legends golf course, biggest one i have ever caught. Sometimes they make their way up the river pretty far, although I imagine they don't stay for long.
