Default New Guy

New arrival in south Calgary; looking for fishing buddies. Prefer lake fishing--belly boat, pontoon; trout or pickerel, really anything that swims. Camping great. Retired, able to fish any day of week. Have fishing van.

Question . . . anybody know of good lakes south of Calgary. Heard good things about Pine Coulee Reservoir and McGregor Lake Reservoir. Comments?

Chain Lakes Reservoir any good?

Suggestions???

Thanks for taking the time!

Evans

Leaving Calgary tomorrow around 11-12. Coming home after dark. Not sure where I'm going, but it'll be trout on the fly of some sorts. Might be south on hwy 40, might be kananaskis, might be in banff, would discuss.

split gas and have fun.

You'll catch most of the fish, atleast that's what wayne will tell yah

Its not bad for a small lake. Its stocked with Rainbows and Brookies. I was there in June and caught 4 Rainbows over 6 hours. Road is a bit rough going in but not too bad.

Unable to drive, this summer...if anyone is heading out of Calgary to fly-fish for trout on Sunday, I'd be interested in going with. I have commitments on Fri, Sat, and Mon...otherwise I'd be up for additional days....

Used to live up there. This time of year, for good water, try Spring Lake (north of Hythe) or East Dollar, (North of Valleyview).

Later, in September, Moonshine and Figure 8 near Peace River will clean up and give you great fishing!

Tight lines.

Default new to fishing, need some help

Hey I have never really fished before, I am looking for someone to show me the ropes. I have a truck we can take or I can pitch in for fuel and bait etc. I am in edmonton and prefer day trips. if anyone is willing to help someone new to fishing it would be VERY much appreciated. I have heard of NSR etc.. but I am not sure what to use for bait etc... and where to go exactly... I am up for anything in the city or out of the city as long as it's a day trip....

Let me know!
Pm me and I can provide my number.

Thanks!

Fished Chain Lake about a 3 weeks ago and the fishing was good all about 10 to 12 inches, can get very windy. They say all the big fish are at the north end of the lake.

Headed out tomorrow am to fish the Pembina at a little spot I know. It is about a 1.5 hr drive. If anyone wants to hook up and come fishing for the day. You would have to have your own ride as I am staying out in that area for the weekend, (or you could camp there for three days and I could bring you back). Just looking for a fishing partner for the day. Limit is 3 walleye 53+. The spot produces very nicely so bring a cooler!

PM me if interested!

I am free for day trips Aug 4-Aug 8 and would like to do some fishing. Might consider an over night trip. I live around Edmonton and have a car, will pitch in for gas. Definitely willing to drive 2-3 hours for a good day of fishing.

I am relatively inexperienced fisherman. When I was a kid I fished catch and release for pike and the occasional walleye. Anyway I want to keep some eating fish (pike, walleye, trout, anything)! Anyway looking to learn lots and have fun! I do not know where to head around Edmonton.

Please contact me with PM.
