That's why guys like him win custom rifles. You reap what you sow is generally a life principle. Maybe not immediately, but in the long haul it's usually true. Good on Gramps!

I would never loan a rifle to someone that I wouldn't use myself!

Hunting accurate, out to around 300yds. Anything better than that is luck( and most likely, someone else's)
But most of the reason I wanted in was to meet all. Only after did I find out about the other rodeos. I can only make it to this one.

But the DV range is only 400, rats! Not even enough to be "real" long range. I would throw my hat in but may not be able to get away from work and wouldn't know till the week of. May be able to go visit and meet some of the people late in the day though

You did not need to answer, but you did.

The rodeo is a fun event; if you know what your instrument will do and can adjust to the environment you will have fun.

Green is good.

I do agree with your comment.

We have a commitment from a major sponsor that supper is all looked after, and some large ticket items are now gracing the prize table.
Looking forward to this event being the best ever.
37/45 spots now spoken for.

The course of fire requires 24 rounds.
The average shooter should bring about 30 rounds of ammo, just incase they get into some shoot offs.

I like to go into matches with twice as many rounds as the course of fire- and a spare rifle!
Anything can happen on a hunt, at a match, or in between!!

Back up is a semi-auto, different weights, different practical range based on practice.
If maximum capability of the range is 400yds ( or meters?) can I reasonably expect targets at that range?

You can expect targets from 25 to 300ish yards.
All shot from field positions, and some shot from your weak side too.

There are also 3 moving targets (pop up bear(130), pop up elk(210), and running deer(150)) these are presented in random order too boot.

What an awesome sounding weekend. I hope my schedule allows me to make it, even if it's only to hang with some internet friends.

Lets commit to no more off topic posts on a thread that doesn't deserve it.

Great work, Dick!

Well, Devils Right Hand cant make it. He's kicking his own ass as he screwed up his dates and committed himself to a wedding down East and he cant get out of it....next year he says....I'll start reminding him in Jan

Cat, are you shootin irons and cast? Sounds like fun, might have to bring one of those myself, although as the years go by it's getting harder to keep everything in focus Not that I'm any competition but I don’t remember ever shooting the Rodeo with irons....

Geez...now I'm all fired up...best go load some rounds and get in some practise...se ya'll in 2 months.

Hello all! Been a while for me on here. Yes as stated by dick. I'm busy putting an acresge together and time is at a premium. And to boot
I'm actually on call duty at the plant that weekend so I will have to observe from the Internet.
Looks like someone else is going get the 'third last from bottom' trophy this year. ( it looks a lot like a can of beer)

No buckles for a few years now, unless Dick is bringing them back this year but I don't think so, haven't heard anything. They were nice though.
