Busy scraping off the heavy factory finish off a couple of stocks, a BLR for a friend that will that will be redone with Bitchwood Tru- Oil, and the AO rifle which I am painting in metallic Indigo.

I have two 25-06 AI rifles. One is a Cooper and one is a Savage with a custom stainless barrel. The cooper is a 26" barrel and the savage is a 24". I just finished working up a load that shoots great in both so I only have one type of ammo around for both to avoid problems. The 26" cooper shoots the 80gr ttsx at 3916fps. And the 24" Savage shoots the same load at 3874fps. Both are grouping 1/2-3/4 moa. My kids both shoot normal 25/06 with the 80gr ttsx at 3748 and 3681fps. Over the last five years we have proven this bullet is a deer killing machine.

That's what I've been doing in my reloading room lately.

I use my cooper mostly. But I use the savage when I hunt out of a canoe.

How does it meter through the V4? Last night I set the target on my V4 without having the cup under. CFE 223 everywhere, that stuff is like pepper.

Well…it has got to be the worst extruded powder to throw. Each piece averages around .08 of a grain. So side cutters are needed. If people b1tch about Varget, I just laugh….they ain’t seen nothing!

I persevere. But it’s not a quick endeavour.

And as far as you forgetting the cup under the thrower…the worst thing like that I did was put powder into cases without primers. Messy too.

But it taught me to never drink alcohol when loading.

First rounds for the new 6.5 PRC rig. Fourteen for barrel break-in/scope zeroing. Then six different charge weights with six rounds each. This first test is mostly speed related. And to get the feel of the short magnum round. Also to fire form the brass. (I’m not a fan of virgin cases during load development.) This will give me 50 cases that are fire formed so I can measure them and gauge my shoulder bump. Also this virgin brass has not much neck tension. That I will also adjust after the first firing.

Well yesterday I got around to switching out the scope on my CZ 527 .223, mounted up an Arken EPL4 - 4 - 16 x 44mm and then spent some bench time sighting it in and running it up and down to ensure it tracked, which it does beautifully, very nice scope.

Then today I rolled up a couple hundred vermin exterminators as my supply was down under 100, Sierra 52 gr HPBT matchkings ahead of 25.5 gr H4895, Fed 205M primers, not overly fast @ 3221 but very accurate in the CZ.

Got a farmer friend with a beaver problem and it just happens to be in the 1/2 section of pasture that I also shoot gophers in, gonna make some noise and send some furry little creatures to heaven tomorrow

FINALLY finished up the AO rifle!
It was shooting so well I never bothered to paint the stock, just left it like a rat rod.
