Fingers crossed but I would be very surprised if she rules in favour of the CCFR.

Yup, highly unlikely to get any favorable rulings on anything the Libs don't like. Not so sure as they aren't weaponizing the courts & justice depts the same way they are in the states, purely for political purposes. Hope for the best and expect the worst.

My personal observations from being closely involved in my own Sec 74 Reference, and following many others across Canada, is that the Courts are uniformly backing the Crown. I don't expect this to be any different. The Courts may be independent (and maybe not) but ultimately they are just another organ of the State. Citizens rights are 'subject to reasonable' blah blah, as Section 1 of the demonstrably worthless Charter has proven.
Enjoy the decline.

spineless Trudeau sucks it up
Amnesty Order to be extended to October 30, 2025 – two more years
According to Public Safety Canada's website on the Firearms Buyback Program page, the amnesty order that began on May 1, 2020, and was set to expire on October 30, 2023 will be extended again until October 30, 2025.
Of note, this date is after the next scheduled Federal election.
This Amnesty Order encompasses the firearms banned by the May 1, 2020 Order in Council.
This proves that the gun ban is and always has been purely political, and nothing more.
We were told that we were not allowed to own or use these dangerous "weapons of war", yet we are forced to keep them safely stored for 5 and a half years at minimum.

this should be treated like court cases, if not done in a timely matter then it should be dropped!

Guns so dangerous, they don't belong in Civilians hands....but, store them for five and a half years the Libs say, so we can keep making political hay, and because we are too incompetent to deliver on anything more complicated then legal weed.
Spectacular.

The un holy coalition is throwing down the political third rail…… wait for it, they will claim the Con’s are going to cause blood to flow in the streets.
If Pierre is smart don’t say diddly about this, and then kill the whole BS thru fiscal belt tightening.

Yup. Too dangerous for sport shooters, hunters and collectors in Canada, but not too dangerous to send 55 million worth of the same guns to Ukraine so they can shoot Russian men and women.....

Little blurb from Calibre Mag, about some gov't documents he's been researching in the last while, looks like buyback will not happen unless Libs get reelected, and even then may take a couple yrs to begin implementation;

This may just cause a bit of blood to boil, ATIP request for Poly E-mails to the Libs, 677pgs worth in the answer to the ATIP. Some interesting stuff.

Today's edition of the Senate taking testimony on C21, LeBlanc's first appearance as Minister, and the usual Liberal mantra.

Probably a better version of the SECD hearing from Oct23, I listened to the other one, noticed some weird stuff on it, and it was cut short by the look of it.
Anyway, Terri Bryant and the Sask CFO are both on it. Bryant kinda tore them a strip.

Monday, Oct 30th, is the day, Judge Kane says she'll issue her opinion on the OIC case.
I suppose it will be expect the worst and hope for the best, and hope she is torqued with the Libs. Be an interesting week coming up, to say the least.

Last Wed testimony at the SECD hearing on C21. I had trouble with the sound level on this one, it's a pretty low volume recording or upload. Christian Lauprecht is interesting to hear, along with Caillin Langmann once again.

The decision was likely written up, before the trial began

I had no other expectation. I did find parts of the decision language to be especially egregious. In black and white, the GC owes no duty of procedural fairness to gun owners. Or, in Layman's terms, screw you guys, because we said so.

This undermines our whole system of government. Letting the police make laws in effect, results in a police state.

Court has shown its agenda time and time again over the last 8 yrs or so, they will do as the people who appointed them to the court want done. And, we do have to remember, when it comes to firearms, we are all in illegal possession, with a permit to "legally" possess issued by the gov't, and that was held up by the courts too. There isn't a politician that will do the right thing in Ottawa or any of the provinces, such as Lauprecht said should be done, in the SECD hearing the other day. Going after gunowners is purely political, far easier than trying to actually address the other problems, which keep lawyers and cops, various professions in the medical industry employed as well, and provide opportunities for the politicians & lawyers to make some money on the side, and for friends and relatives.

Here is the decision to read for yourself if you want, have to remember firearms are illegal in Canada, we may be able get a permit to possess one, if the gov't feels like giving us one;

This is Mondayy's SECD hearings session, a couple of victims, one from Danforth, one from Dawson college, a student group very heavily tied to Poly, an ex-con social worker from Tor, a prof from a military college, and Alan Drummond, and Najma and Wendy.
Hard one to watch, lot of playing on emotions, some reasonable discussion, some dumb questions and loaded questions. Don Plett asked Wendy if she was consulted before the legislation was made, duh?
