This cat put on a ton of miles the night before criss crossing all over the country. Boxed him in on sleds. Ran the dogs in with the sleds a few miles ran him and then had to still get the dogs out. The odd dog mooched a ride on the sleds back. They were a tired group at the end of that hunt. If we would have had to run this cat with out boxing him in the dogs would have been in the bush over night. Hunt was fully donated to Wild Sheep Foundation of Alberta to raise money.

Some interesting stuff on here. Now that some are posting size and score of there cats thought would mention this for those that didn't know. If the dogs are wearing collars either tracking or GPS and the receiver is used during the chase the cat is NOT eligible for entry into the record books. With GPS I have yet to see a guy not use the receiver after the dogs are turned loose. Personally I have no interest in entering an animal in the book but some do.

ya, no noubt about that! Old! looks like the mouth of some of the residents behind my house here! how old will they get? I was told that 10 years is about expectancy? Here is a something that might get you a bit fired up. F/W wouldn't pull a tooth for me on my cat? figured it wasn't worth the time of pulling it. So I tried pulling it myself, because I wanted to know right! I ended up crushing it, not the right pliers . Isn't that some info they might want to log? It is provided for them, no cost!

I could be wrong but im sure I was told they could be entered but received an asterix beside their name to show that tracking devices were used. This could be wrong but was something ive heard.

x2.....they never pulled mine either! makes you wonder where they get their stats from. Actually the F/W made me drag my cougar into the office by myself in a tarp I had it wrapped it, looked at it for 2 minutes and said wow that's a nice cougar! Is that as big as they get? Then said congrats and said I could leave. Was pretty disappointed.

Its an issue that has been noted as happening and the ATHA is working on answers to in from F/W as those age structures are what are determining the quotas. If all cats arent being done it defeats the purpose.

I'm loving this thread right now! These pics are sick!! The only thing that gets me more fired up than a nice pair of hooters is a big old hairy...... Well u know. Lol!!
Those are some great cats guys!! The trophy is not measured in inches or printed in a book. A trophy is the smile on your face, an experience imprinted in your mind for life. Something YOU as the hunter should never forget. We don't kill. We harvest. And we are extremely grateful for the opportunity!!
