The Thirsty Bear in Waterton. If you have been there, enough said. If not check it out and hit Twin Butte Country the next night.

That working the rigs definetly got a fella to a lot of the out of the way places.
A lot of them are probably gone now and the names have faded from my mind.
The old Hotel in Claresholm that burnt down was that the Jolly Roger?
The Beaverlodge one with the taxi work it burnt.
Granum Bar it Burnt.
Empress the Border it Burnt.
Wasn't there one in Acadia Valley Burn't.
Oyen Burn't.
Then there are the little ones Clive.................
Cadogan was a good bar.
Stavely was fun.
Chauvin man I had a ton of fun there! Wonder if the old grey mare is still there?
Carmengay Red felt on the pool table.
Vauxhaul Blue felt on the pool table.
Burstall one for the Saskatchewan Side.
I am trying to remember if there was one in Spirit River but my mind isn't sure.

Memories Ken.

I'm not sure youd call it a small town bar, or even a place that you'd like to stay in for too long...

But a few years back, there used to be a club in Hinton...
I believe, it was called Club Debong...or at least thats what it sounded like...

Well holy **** the times we had in there...
We had a full out bar brawl one night with a bunch of frenchman and the strippers got everything undercontrol and we all ended up singing french songs (traditional french songs that we did not know the words too) while the strippers did their thinbg and we threw quarters and loonies, 5 and 10 and even the odd 20$ at them..

Another time, Me and 3 other fellas were the only guys there, ... one of the ;lasses had an idea how she could make more money rather than counting on stripping tips...lololol

It was the weirdest and sometimes roughest place...

I remeber hitch hiking back to Jasper one night wondering where I had been,,,was it the Twilight zone?

Default oh....the Nojack Hotel bar

great times!

its not far from our hunting cabin.
one of the first times i saw the weekly peelers that used to come through. this was back in 86 when i was a youngn. The uncles smuggled me in. my dad picked the short straw and he had to drive the restnof us back to the cabin.

I figured i could convince the stripper to come back with me.

First time i saw a handgun now that i think of it.

She stayed at the bar. lol!

The bar at Red Earth Creek saw alot of my fri nights back in the early 90s. Good times there as well.

got a good thrashing by some rig boys there too. The natives from Loon Lake stood up for me that time cause I was building houses forthem at the time.

Another vote for the old waskatenau hotel, many summer nights tore up there, watching locals have a burn out contest on main street at 2 in the morning. Then there was the other time the bar brawl spilled out onto main street and gord bamford was throwing rights lol.

was at a little bar just north of camrose last weekend......the locals were smoking........ seems theres a big money jar where if you want to smoke you throw 5 bucks in the jar and smoke all night.......i guess once in a while the cops show up and fine the establishment for letting them smoke. they use the money from the money jar to pay the fine........ I smoke, i liked the set up....

One of the funniest experiences that I can remember happened back in the 80s when a semi was jack knifed at Supertest, so the buses weren't leaving the Syncrude site at Mildred Lake. Being in our 20's a bunch of us decided to wander over to the Tammarack Club for a beer , and to kill some time. After a few hours,it was reported that the road was clear, and a couple of the fellows came to the Tammarack to get us over to the buses, so we could go home. Well that beer had turned into several, and many more people had decided to join us, so there were dozens of people staggering through the ice and snow to get back to the buses. It took a bit of doing to get us all to the buses, and then on board. Needless to say, things were a little slow going the next morning with most of us nursing hangovers. Of course that wouldn't happen these days with the drug and alcohol testing.

The bar in Newbrook is always a good watering hole after hunting....freindly folk.

Worked in Sundre this last summer and fall, good food at the local restraunts and had some good evenings at swamp donkeys.

The staff was great and found the local townsfolk very freindly and the local landowners very good at giveing hunting access the rare time I was able to get out.

Sundre is great place filled with good people.

Default Fawcett-Dapp-Rochester-Busby Circuit

srp,
Sounds like we did the same circuit but we usually did not usually make it all in the same night as we were past full after a few stops most of the time. Didn't worry about cops then because you could backroad it from bar to bar. Rochester had to be my favorite, one time they had a band and somehow we ended up being the main players while they sat, drank and cheered us on. Too bad its closed now.

Southern Ranchmans Inn in Manyberries. They were strapped for a cook during deer season and had to bring in a young mom to cook.

We were well into the whiskey when we got recruited to watch the video baby monitor she had in the bar of her sleeping baby upstairs in one of the rooms so that she could run into the kitchen and cook us some supper.

After a while every hunter in the place pulled their chair up to our table to watch"TV" If a guy got too loud every one would turn to him and" Hey****nuts!! The baby is sleeping" Hilarious when someone walked in from outside thinking we were all watching sports.

That baby was well protected with about 20 guardian angels taking turns watching her sleep so that the mom could work her shift.

Only in Manyberries!!!!

The old bar in Shaughnessy was an awesome place for a few cold ones after hunting before it burned down.

Longview is great.

Never been in the Hoz in Hosmer but always wanted to stop in for a drink after fishing the Elk.

Haven't seen the Eckville Hotel mentioned yet. I recall piling all our hunting firearms onto the bar while checking into the hotel rooms, because we didn't want to leave them unattended in our vehicle parked on the street.
I was taught how to properly clean a grouse in that bar - took me about a dozen birds and a dozen beers to get it right. All the bar owner said - through a blizzard of drifting feathers, was "sure am glad you boys didn't get a moose!"

I love Joe & Leona's Patricia Hotel too - but my dog didn't care for it. While bird dogs have the run of the hotel, they're not permitted in the bar - but the frigg'n CAT waltzes around in there like he owns the place. My dear old Max didn't think that was fair.

Anyone drink in the Eaglesham hotel before it was condemned ?
This was back in the early to mid 90's, should have been condemned back a few years prior too ha. We were asked to leave more than once.
One of the biggest moose heads in AB hung on the wall.
After the tore it down the only place left to drink there was the Gathering Place, nice place and pretty good grub too.
