My bud called me last night between the first and second period to see how I was feeling, I had a medical emergency yesterday, anyway he said i hope you not watching the Oilers game as that won't do your heart any good, I said Yea I'm watching but I not getting mad or yelling at the TV.
He said no worries, they will put soupy in to start the 2nd and then win it in OT, I thought the old boy needed help but low and behold that dreaded 3 goal lead bit the kings in the butt.

Lots of pressure for a rookie. Especially having a great rookie season and being compared to grant fuhr.
I’d go with cambell too.
Skinner was hyped up by fans and media. Now he has to live up to it. Maybe go one and one with them.

may be wishful thinking but would love to see Oilers and Jets win their series and the Oilers and Jets play real exciting hockey , Oilers beating Jets in six. Then if the stars can miracously align Oilers go on to play Toronto for Lord Stanley and just kick the livin sheet out of them. Not likely but stranger things have happened.

I know it's irrational, but I just have no faith in Campbell. Like the panel said last night, he's "battling", which is great, but it looks like every save is exactly that - a battle. He made the saves last night, but there's nothing calm, collected, and confidence inspiring about his game, even the routine shots make me cringe.
That being said, Skinner hasn't been good, he's let in a few softies and has definitely been outdueled by Korpisalo. For some reason though, I seem to give him more leeway than I'd give Campbell. It's a strange bias thing, but I'm just more confident with Skinner in there, and I think, at least up until now, the team seems to have the same bias.
I'd go back to Skinner for Game 5, but I'm not real sure why, other than it "feels" better...

The other graphic they flashed last night that really told the story IMHO was the goals scored off of quality rebound chances. The Oilers had 7 or 8 chances, and 1 goal, the Kings had 4 chances and 3 goals. I'm guessing the same trend would apply to inner slot shots, point shots, deflections, etc...
In a tight checking series like this, finishing is absolutely critical. If they can find a way to finish on the chances they're generating, I like their odds of winning the best of 3.

If you strictly look at this series, Skinner has not won the goalie battle for even a minute of the 3 games and 1 period hes played. Campbell stopped 27 of 28 and looked calm and made dynamic saves. Thats a huge game for him coming in cold and down 3. To me you have to go with the hot hand at the moment and thats Campbell. If it doesnt work out, run them in tandem or whatever will win games.
Skinner handling the puck gives me fits.

I tend to agree....Campbell hasn't lived up to his salary but I feel he has more and better refined tools than skinner.
I fear we have rode Stuarts hot streak out...If there was ever a time for Jack to go on a heater...its NOW!

Skinner hasn't made a single 5 bell alarm save yet in the series and has let at least 1 get past him that he should stopped in every playoff game thus far. He doesn't need to stand on his head, he just can't be letting a soft one or two in every game. That's what the previous goalie tandem did consistently.
Campbell was a train wreck this year but had some decent stretches and still somehow won 21 games.
I think it is a tough call. Skinner's probably not stealing you a game and Campbell very well could depending on which Campbell shows up.
I'll bet Woody makes the call based on whomever is "feeling it" more during the morning skate tomorrow.

The sad reality though, is that it’s definitely going to be hard to keep both.

He will sign a team friendly contract in 2025 as the mighty Oil prep to win their 3rd straight Cup and cement their names in History as the Oilers second dynasty team
