The Watermelon Patch in Egremont Alberta.

A lot of guys drive right by it.

The biker bar in Redwater. Not too bad.

Some favourites.... Robb... Drank there, stayed there... Still laugh that had to go down to the bar from my room up stairs and change the tv channel as the whole joint watches the same channel. Good food and people. Lodgepole.... Stop there routinely for a lodgepole burger... Now that's good eating.. Tomahawk.... Thursdays for the dancers... Ride your snowmobile into town in the winter, Or bike in the summer. The old hotel in Black Diamond... name slips me, but that's nothin new. Great atmosphere....

WM.

After the tore it down the only place left to drink there was the Gathering Place, nice place and pretty good grub too.

If anyone happens to pass through Chinook (Montana), check out the Pastime Bar and Lounge....it's our local watering hole. Beers and mixed drinks are $2.25 (unless you order something fancy). All bars here in Chinook charge the same..... All 4 of them. We like to make folks feel welcome.

Best line!

I'm decades past my "Bar" years, but this thread brought back a few memories. God bless beer and Alberta Oil's tendency to haemorrhage money.

Myself and a few buddies went there about 12 years ago when we were working in Milk River and had a day off, seemed like a good place. If i recall the only rye we could get was Crown oc CC. Some of my other interesting favorites over the years are:
Vilna
Dorintosh Sask
Bassano
Wandering River
Patricia
Dutchess
Wilingdon
Fox Creek-Griz
Glendon
Just had great times in all these small places.....most the stories I will take to the grave

Lancer, SK at the hotel. Dorintosh, SK for steak night. Loon lake, SK bar. The beaver hotel, in north Battleford, SK. The wheatie, in kitscoty. Red earth creek hotel. Some of the most entertaining and rougher bars I've had the pleasure of drinking in. I know there are more but the memory is foggy on some of those nights.

it dont get any smaller than in

1996 neilburg, SK. neilburg hotel.
chasing monster whitetails by day, wickedly huge 30oz steaks, softball sized baked potatoes, 8" diameter burgers with 8" by 3/8" peice of cheeze and ceaser salads that comes on a platter with 3" thick slab of garlic toast, wobbly pops by nights. enjoyed watching locals in a talent contest of sticking quarters to there faces.
no loud music, no strippers, no fights in fact, you could hear the bartender snoring between rounds (His name was Colin Bolin...dont know why i remember that)

nothing has come close to that since.

x2 on the Oasis and Red Lion. The Red Lion used to serve a great Buffalo burger.

Some of my small town favorites:

Luseland Hotel- Couldn't have a beer when I was working, but ample tractor-trailer parking across the street and a decent sandwich.

The Irish Pub ( Caliedeighs?) in Camrose. Great atmosphere and was probably very busy last night lol.

There was this one bar in St. Walburg SK. Can't remember the name, but a great place to top off a day of fishing.

Nicks in Vermilion- Small size, good steak and friendly people.

The bar in the Black Diamond hotel. We used to jump on our bikes in the 70's and do the route. Longview, Black Diamond, Cochrane. Then after we would get ice cream at Cochrane.

We were having fun at the Black Diamond one Saturday, when this old Russian lady (and I mean old) come unglued at the waitress cause she'd been cut off. She was screaming Russian obscenities and every so often some English would come out. VISKY I VANT VISKY. Then she took a step forward and face planted onto that nasty wood floor. Had to be there, funniest thing.

Default Redcliff hylton

The Redcliff Hylton ... a historic 100 year old hotel with very good food and a beautifully landscaped beer gardens to sit outside in during the summer complete with bbqs, bocchi pit and fireplace. You can eat some pub grub and for dessert .. cross the street for some eye candy..the only stripper joint in southeastern Alberta!

Chaseing white russian chicks in Plamondin can be hazardous to your health.

pretty much , we got property less than 5 min from the pelican inn . a lot of the white russian chicks are hot as hell, dressed in colourful full length dresses and cover their hair if they're married but they like to drink and can be flirty or even pretty straight forward. most white russian boys dont like you talking to them and they usually only hang with other russians and in pretty big packs sometimes. went to a house party one night after the bar closed and it was intresting to say the least.
