If you can't find a local place to buy, Marmish sells on-line here:
https://www.marmish.ca/
And you can get their rod here as well on-line:

I'm pretty sure I have seen them in Whole Sale Sports in the past, so there should be a good place to check. Haven't been in there lately, so I'm not sure if they are actually carrying them tho.

I had to order mine online when I decided to try one.
Wholesale said that they weren't going to carry the rods and very few of the hooks made by marmish in the future.
This was a couple years ago now so that may have changed and they might have a few in stock now.

The most annoying feature of this type of rods with light line in a cold used to be dropping a loop from the spool and getting it onto the central screw. Unscrewing cheap plastic center piece in cold weather I hated. Not having an "axle" is a huge + for the other rod.

Don't remember rods in store (didn't look), but they have indicators and some lures from them

I was watching a youtube vid on the marmish fishing for whites and now im re-thinking it. Think I might buy one and give it a try. I see what you mean by giving the hook some action and I like what I saw. Do you have to buy an indicator extra or does it come with them?

just came back from one of the X-lakes there were 4 people including me and my buddy.....
we both use Marmish rods....
we got 6 good sized rainbows (from 12 to 17 inches) between us and I lost 2 another good ones (broken line, my favorit self-made marmish hook is gone) :/....the other 2 guys used the regular stuff (2 bobber rods and 2 tip ups) and they got nothing......maybe a wrong place for them, but we stopped right in the middle of the lake )))))))
so, you figure......Marmish rods (if you know how to use them) - ultimate fishing tool

Comes with it. Watch what you get as they are different sensitivity and once on the rod - label is not there. They are color coded and website had description
