Only thing that matters in playoff hockey is the final round…….
I guess then have 1 vs 2 and 3 vs 4 etc... I think the top teams should be rewarded with playing "weaker" playoff teams to start. Otherwise put all 16 teams in a hat and draw names for series which would be interesting for sure.

That was a nice play by Vegas and a nice goal.

Vegas looks like a different team in the third. They don’t seem to be able to get their stuff together.

Not a winning team the way they played in the third. Whoever that was on the Vegas team who missed the empty net in the second…

Agree with me yet?

For goalies with 3 or more starts, Oettinger is 5th in SA%,5th in GAA and tops in minutes played and points! Emphasis on the points, tough to win if your goalie doesn't kick in offensively! Take out that rough first start, he's at 0.942 SA% in his last six.

That being said, I'm being all cocky now seeing as how Colorado made Winnipeg look worse than the Sharks in some metrics, Dallas may need that number to stay that high if they have any hope of advancing.

Well now they can say Stone played with a ruptured spleen. When he didn’t have a heart. Good bye Vegas!

Haha. The points sure give him an edge there. Seriously though, he’s done very well. You may also say that he is the second best goalie left, according to the current stats. I would also agree with the latter: the numbers need to stay about where they are. Many others have to improve in this department.

Vegas melted in the third. Stone was clearly hurt too, not this was a determining factor, but sure didn’t help. I can say I definitely didn’t expect them to play like they were in the third.

I subscribed to Sportsnet for a couple months to see more games at the end of the season and start of the playoffs. As the rounds go on and games thin out, does anyone know if CBC will be broadcasting Canadian games free throughout the week like they did on HNIC Saturdays during the season? If so, I may stop my subscription.

I watched the first round on CBC. They'll follow the Oilers/Canucks to the finals. Then broadcast the final series.

Sucks for people down east, particularly in Atlantic Canada who want to watch an all Canadian series. The games in Vancouver won't be starting in Nfld until 11:30 pm. I remember growing up on the rock watching HNIC, it didn't start until 9:30 pm and they only had one game on then and it was an "early" game, if you want to call that early.

Boston with no shots on goal for the first 7-8 minutes, then outshoots Florida 13-9 in the first. Goaltending will be key in this one, but I will still call Florida to move on to the next round.

Not nearly a beat down, but Bobrovsky needs to do better.

Rangers Hurricanes was an excellent game. Watched the whole thing but the second OT. Colorado Dallas was not as good. Watched from the last half of the second and on. Shots on goal were clearly lacking - he shoots and its wide, shoots and it soars high, etc.

So dose that shake Dallas, blowing a 3 goal lead and loosing in OT at home ??
The dreaded 3 goal lead

I think we will see an different Panthers team tonight

Let's go Oilers

Two OT games, fans getting their money’s worth!

Time to drain the oil out of an old rusty tank now!
