He seems like he’s lost interest. He won’t hit anyone and certainly doesn’t skate hard. I’ve said this in previous post that Tippett needs to wake up here. 4 on 4 he is not good at all right now. Get someone with speed. Kassian, archie, Quazzi. Try it Tippett!!!!

So the massive minutes Drai put in the first third of the season, burned him out?? Minimal production rest of the season? Was it worth it?

So Leon is headed to the Allstar game to compete in 3on3 action. Does this kick start his arse into gear or would he be better to pull an Ovi and bail out to get some rest ?

With what he’s shown lately he’s gonna get lit up like a Christmas tree there. Maybe someone there will put a boot up his rear cause Tippet sure ain’t gonna do it.

True, but quite concerning to say the least. Still trying to figure out what happened in that epic collapse

I recently watched a game from the mid 80's, just amazing how much the game has changed, fun to watch that old firewagon smash mouth hockey. Reminded me of a heavyweight boxing match where both combatants go blow for blow. Great hockey back then for sure.

Only problem is back then it was usually exchanging blow for blow, not giving up a 6 goal lead. It's a good thing there wasn't another two minutes in that game or we would be spitting venom today, I know I would be.

I'll obviously take the 2 points but that collapse was pretty concerning to say the least. Oh well, on to the next one!

One of the reasons is that the Oilers big scorers can't play defence, they are all offence, if you look at the NHL's top 20 points leaders so far this year you will see that McDavid is 1st in points but -6 and Driaisitle is 2nd in points but -19 and they are the only 2 of the top 20 that are minus.

Pasternak and Marchand are only 4 or 5 points behind them for scoring but they are +13 and +20 respectively kind of tells the story, you need to play defence as well, floating around waiting for that fancy pass doesn't cut it, if your line scores 3 goals a game but gives up 4 what happens...........normally you loose the game.

IMHO from the armchair coaches corner

He’s on his fifth year in the NHL and has never been such a defensive liability. He is such a one way player and terrible without the puck. He hasn’t developed his defensive game at all.
Also doesn’t help that he needs Connor to hold his hand and can’t drive his own line for the money he is collecting.

Lets give credit when it is due...we've been bashing Smith since Nov and deservedly so...He's been rock solid the last 2 games. We all know that Smith is SOLID in the playoffs, saying that...it really is playoff games for the Oilers from here on in

Maybe a fine at worst.

Edit: After looking at it a couple times doubt they will even review it.

Credit given. I listened to the game on the radio while out trying to catch dinner. Smith gutted out the win. Sounded like a complete game by everyone.

Not sure what it is. This team can beat the top teams in the league and seem to not show up against the Detroit’s of the NHL.

Should be a good win tonight. Leafs have been better of late and they have a star studded line up. We lost 4-1 before Christmas but Toronto wasn’t as good then. Imaging where we would be if we had beat Detroit, L.A, and Ottawa during the first half. Smith in net again. What’s going on with Kosk.
