Been working on training the dog on sheds, and today he brought me his first one! It's kind of a pathetic antler...and one of the tines is broken and the others are slightly chewed by rodents, but it was exciting to see that the training has had some effect.

Great job, everyone! Good day. I am going out tomorrow for most of the day, hopefully. Fingers crossed. Went for a quick drive today to one of the spots I am heading out tomorrow to check things out and saw a couple of bucks with both antlers on, so we will see.

Was out from 1 pm to 8:30 pm today and came back empty-handed, AGAIN. Walked the bush for hours, then 3 different fields and nada
It was a beautiful day though. Walked with only a tshirt (well, pants too) for hours for the first time this year Saw some moose and plenty of deer. Was a great day really, but for some reason disappointment settled in by the end of it

2017 Sheds
Good weekend out and about in the moose patch. Looking forward to getting after the muleys and elk now that they are starting to drop. Good luck everyone! The first elk of the season, a couple nice moose as they lay and packing them all out to the road!

Holy smokes! Great weekend, indeed!
Good stuff. Also, glad to see the elk shed in the pile. This is the first one I see this season

Was able get get back out this morning with the dog hoping to find the matches to the 2 good mulie sheds we found on friday.
Instead he found this match set laying 10 feet apart in the trees; it's a really dandy fresh set, and he has a nice non typical point on the right front.
I guess we will have to get back in there again and find the matches to those other two. IMG_0259.jpg

I have the worst luck when it comes to finding sheds.
Ironically, last year around this time, I started browsing this forum and read up about shed hunting and I saw a dead head with 1 antler on it inside the city limits - when I was driving down a country road not even looking for sheds.
0 and 2 this year so far. Hoping to go out a few times this week.
I have a spot I have been checking where you literally cannot go 10 feet without stepping in a pile of Elk droppings Not a shed to be found!

Went out this weekend, found seven in total, three on skull, which I am not happy with.
These two were literally left together, thanks my deer. They are so cute, first time hit this kind of luck.

Good thread here thanks for sharing.
Bottom heavy set I found. Bases are heavy enough that they stand up on their own.

Did you ever find this guy moose?> if he returned 33 mins later, I bet some good money that those sheds are within maybe 100-200 yards of that camera max.
p.s. Nice ones Deer Hunter. Good Heavy set, wonder if he is OLD and on his way down... or if he is young and going to be a MONSTER!

Good job everyone. Keep the pics coming.
Thought I better post some.

Went out with the kids, the wife and my lab on the weekend No luck at all finding any sheds.
Lots of snow yet which made it more difficult. Anyhow, my lab did find something....a skunk den with inhabitants....guess how that turned out!!!!
