tricks of the eye and bow sights. lol
I havent bought a bow yet as the 2014 bow I want is not on store shelves yet? but the hole is burning in the pocket.
But... have been looking at accessories. When looking at bowsights with multi colored pins... Am I alone in that when looking at them the colors don't line up?
As in.. like yesterday... when looking straight onto a sight.. a Trophy ridge... the red pin looked left and the yellow ones to the right. lol
I see this on a lot of sights. Except Spot Hog and a few others.
Must be googly eyed

Were they vertical pins? If you don't hold the sight absolutely square to your eye they will go from right to left or left to right depending on the cant.
If they are side pins the same effect does not occur.
Look at the vertical pins...they are not all the same distance from your eye as they are not stacked on the same plane.

Its hard to explain.. they were side pins... top two were chartreuse , third was red... bottom two are chartreuse. pins 1,2,4,5 are all lined up.. the red one hangs to the left. I found this in many sights... Maybe its just me? but the way the pins glow in different colors make them line look funky when they are lined up. lol The Spot hog Hunter didnt do thiss to me. maybe thats the one to choose :P

Think it probably has a lot to do with quality... Really wish I had the money for a high end sight... Spot Hogg / HHA type quality is hard to beat but $250+ is alot of money to me

It does it to me on $100-200 sights.
The Spot Hoggs ive been looking at are $189-200. Accessories sure get up there

No worries about this with a Longbow or recurve.

Most mainstream manufacturers make recurves a that accept a variety of accessories, such as sight, rests and quivers. I know they wanted more money for a quiver for my hoyt buffalo than a tight spot quiver for my compound!

On a serious side, the side mount pins should be adjustable to line them up verticaly . If you hold a thread or wire lined up from the top pin and the bottom pin you can see if any are actualy out of alignment pretty quick.

Red pins just tend to do that (hardest to see IMHO). I find that the Spot Hoggs tend to halo/starburst real bad on bright sunny days......but are otherwise bomb proof. I've switched to Montana Black Gold sights which tend to reduce the problem.
I have yet to see a sight built to the tough standard of a Hoggit with a 6 inch dove tail.
Just looking at it in the package or off the bow is decieving. Stick it onto a bow and look at it through a peep sight (while focusing on the target) and it will look entirely different.
I'm sending one of my MBG's back to the manufacturer to have it rebuilt with .10 pins and no red ones this time.

I am also shooting the MGB Vengance...nice sight and adjustable pins to align as OP stated...
as pete stated a small straight edge will tell you for a fact...and as mention some side can have slight individual windage on a pin..
Sometinmes there is an illusion with the Red pin as its brightest in daylight...however at last light the red will be the first to die out ...than yellow and finally green which will last a lot loger after the other colors die...
Thats why I set up my sight Green, yellow, green, red, green, yellow, green

My Sight is set up green-green-red-green-green.....seems ok but I truly hate using the 40 yard red pin....So I just give a high 30 and let er buck

I have the same issue as you and have been told by my optometrist that it is due to my astigmatism. As a result a sight where the pins can be adjusted individually for windage works well for me and I can line each pin up individually. Been shooting a spothog for years.
