Saddening and maddening. But thanks for the chuckle of the day. Where the h*ll was he going anyways?

I just watched a YouTube vid where a homesteader was doing a big batch of sausage and had that poster on the wall in his kitchen.
Cool!

The N. Sask at Rocky was still ice free several days ago.

One had to wonder who picks up the cost?

That's nothing compared to a bunch of sledders on the Athabasca that tried to run open water middle of the night and very drunk, near Whitecourt. This was a few years back.

All experienced riders. Not all of them were young and stupid.

Some not found until next spring.

I recall back around 1998-1999 a trucker went through the Mckenzie river ice bridge with a super b of fuel. Didn't want to wait in the line up to get on the ferry. IIRC the ice bridge was just being built and only rated for 4500KG.

I recall this incident. No disrespect for the friends or family, but that incident was some kind of stupid!
