Default Their Motto

They are not happy until you are not happy

With koodo as well for personal and telus with work I use an esim card so i only have to have one phone

When you look at cost of cell phone plans around the world we are getting Hosed in Canada (see what I did there hosers). It is crazy how much we are overcharged.

I went to Koodo store. They told me go on website talk to chat bot. They didn’t want to talk. That was big run around avoiding my question. Chat bot not helpful.

So now waiting for someone to contact me from Koodo Like that’s going to happen. I’m paying $45 per phone with only 1 gig each phone. I don’t hardly use phone except maybe some texting but that’s it. Wife uses hers constantly. But nearly always on wifi.

Anyone got a phone nbr to call them?

The booths are useless.

For Koodo, I usually go to a London Drugs. Best Buy isn’t bad either.

And another shout out for eSIMs.

Thanks to the answers from guys on here. Koodo got back to me about a hour ago. I got a new plan. Same as old one except for way more gigs than we will ever use and now it’s $35 per phone instead of $45 and an additional $5 off each phone for using auto debit which we had already anyway. So $30 each phone with 60 gigs. Heck we don’t use even one between us. They also offered two perks each we turned down don’t need any. Its not the money as much as just the principle I want same as others got for the money.

Definitely was a wise switch from Telus several years ago. Koodo is easy to deal with once you get through to a human. I didn’t have to threaten,he even agreed I was paying to much for what we were getting.

Thanks Stinky, your info helped get me going on this.

Easy to manage online, and it pays to check on the account control panel, because they often re-jig their plans. The last adjustment that I did brought our costs down considerably and gave us more data.

Another thing is, we tend to buy our phones outright. Sometimes they have deals where it pays to get the phone through them, pay on "The Tab" plan for the minimum amount of months required (usually just a few months) and then buy out the phone and switch back to a regular non-tab plan.

We do get nags, but that's from the parent company (TELUS) trying to get us to switch to them. But every time I look into their plans, they would be charging me way more than what I pay now. Makes absolutely no sense.
Interesting thread. I checked my plan with Koodo yesterday online after reading some comments. I had the tab plan so it will drop from $80 to $60 per month now. Just ended. Did not see anything in the range you guys are paying thou.Retired so everything helps these days.Might be worth a call for sure. Is it cheaper because you have multiple phones? i just have the one on my plan?

For us, our rate has nothing to do with all of the phones we have. One account, separate plans.

Sometimes the downgrades aren't visible - Their web site can be sneaky, where it makes it easy to upgrade but not downgrade.

Double-check your add-ons.

If your Tab was recently paid off, check to see if you are still on a Tab plan - essentially when your Tab is paid off, you now begin accumulating credits towards a new phone on the Tab program (at least that is how it used to work). What we did, after paying off our phones, is switch to a non-Tab plan.

Default Wait for the Black Friday Deals

My Koodo contract ends next month. I would like to stay with them as the coverage is good but pay much less than I am now (I got a good deal on the phone, so my plan isn't the best). As the Koodo website does not offer any deals while you are under contract, and impossible to talk to a person, I visited the local Telus/Koodo store to see if they could provide some insight. They couldn't do much but had Koodo call me. The fellow at Koodo said it is worth waiting for the Black Friday/Christmas/New Years promotions that will start November 20. He told me there was a $29 - 50 GB per month deal. I guess I will wait and see...

Yep I got that deal a few days ago. $35 with 60 gigs and all the unlimited stuff and another $5 a month off if you sign on for auto debit. I had that anyway but they still gave it to me for $5 off so now it’s $30 month plus 60 gigs. My three adults kids are switching over along with there families as we speak sort of to take advantage of that extra $5 off which I’m told that offer of $5 off won’t last for ever but you never know. Probably will.

Well Everyone that was fun. Finally got a call back after all the hoops
You must have had someone different because i had a heck of a time getting a deal. Said it was only for new activations & wanted to charge me $60.00 with more data.I must have been misinformed! Also trying to sell me a phone . To save typing i ended up with a free new phone i dont need. $39.00 per month for 60 Gigs (i barely use one! gig) Signed up for auto pay on my credit card So that makes it
$34 per month 60 gigs & unlimited call & texting for 2 years.
Total saving of $624 bucks over 2 years! Frigging Awesome! Thanks so much
to you all for the info. Retired so every buck matters.
That is why i love this forum!!!

Koodo has a 65GB 5G data, unlimited Calling and Text in Canada for $35 a month. Just had my plan upgraded a month or 2 ago to that as a retention move to keep me from going to Rogers. My previous plan was $33, 1 GB of data, rest the same. I may never use the 65 GB of data but I have been using a lot more data now that I have this plan. I never turn on WIFI away from home anymore. My next move is to check out unlimited text and talk and data in U.S. so I can avoid their ridiculous roaming charges.

You are not understanding Koodo, the reason they can be cheaper is they don't have folks answering phones. There web site lets you do whatever you need to do.

Cranky the Koodo service number is 866-448-8030

They also have 866-995-6636 Both of these get you to a live human. One is customer retention but I don't remember which.

You pretty much have to ask for the Loyalty department once you get through. It can be frustrating but usually worth it if you have the time. Making a call back appointment has been the least painful for me.

Quick update: Now that my contract ended, the best offer from Koodo for me on the website was $39 per month; 100 GB data @ 4G speed, Unlimited Canada wide calling and international texting. More data than I'll ever need but the price is much better than what I was paying....
