Annual Whitefish
Photo's from a beautiful day on the ice today.
We always look forward to the middle of March for some of the best hard water action of the year. Sunny skies, 30 inches of ice, and non-stop Whitefish action. BBK caught her first Lake Whitefish, and we lucked out with a nice Ling.
The Whitefish are dressed and soaking in brine for the smoker tomorrow night while we ate the Burbot tonight by trying a new recipe; frying the filets in garlic butter, mix with mashed potatoes and green onion and pressed into patties. Fried the patties until brown and crispy in the garlic butter and served with lemon and tartar sauce.
Alberta was very kind to us today.

nice haul Guy, be some good smoked eats. BBK is a fish kisser eh. kinda of gal that keeps maggots warm in her lip too? that's awesome.

BBK is a Parasitologist; she would never put maggots in her mouth!
She did awesome, the fish are in the Bradley smoker at this moment.

I thought I smelled smoke! they are pretty awsome smoked for sure, still have a couple in the freezer. even canned some after the smoker, turned out

Yes, I am a lucky guy to have a great gal who enjoys the outdoors as much as I do. She has shot bigger deer, and can gut one from first to last cut in under 5 minutes. I would imagine I could end up gutted myself if I step outta line with her!
