Default 349 moose advice?

Got a late season draw for antlered moose in 349. Can anyone give me gps coordinates on where to find a moose? How far from from home do I have to go? Is there any moose in this zone?

PM sent with specific location, date and time a moose will be 4.56 km NNE of your home.

I don't get why people don't do their homework before they put in for draws.

"I live in med hat but I drew in Fort Mac, anyone tell me where to get my moose before I get their opening day without a clue?"

You and me both. But here we go again for another season...

It happens way more than you think. Draws are so cheap to enter, why not just throw out some random WMU's in there and ask questions later.

Make people pay up front for tags they are entering for when they are putting in draws and it will make folks think about it and do research before hitting submit. Money refunded if tag isn't awarded.

I don't know you were in edmonton now.

I've never seen any while fishing out that way but I've heard where people hunt for them.

I'll PM you.

Default moose

Just for the record the entire 349 wmu has moose. It will depend on how many hunters including the wolves have moved the moose around in the zone. You need to do some scouting ahead of your actual hunt. Look for tracks, licks, bedding areas etc. Hunt the spruce and poplar ridges and check the cut blocks with good willow and young poplar early in the mornings. Dont waste your time in the muskeg.

North of the nose of the sleeping giant when the sun is low in between Gorham and Pearl you will find a big mooskwa stomping ground. Look right, grunt and get ready.

Be prepared for company. All the 500's are gone to draw for archery, I have a feeling you'll have a bunch of new faces looking for new places.

Darn it, was hoping it would be so full of moose you could just clip one with the truck and toss it in the back
