Default Sports rifles, whatcha got?

I'm a little over excited to get my first AR-15 and need a release. I've pretty well decided what I'm going to get but that's changed a couple times in as many weeks and might again.
So please, feel free to show off what you have, what you like or don't and any suggestions or tips for a new purchaser.
Thanks!

SS

What is your definition of a "sports" rifle?

What do you intend on doing with it? Training, 3 gun, service rifle or just banging away at the range?

My AR hasn't been used in over a year. It gets really boring banging away at a target at 100 yards at the range. I will keep it though for when Justin let's me take it coyote and gopher hunting.

Default *long, drawn sigh*

No definition needed... whatever you want it to be. But I think you knew that....
Didn't want to narrow it down to only AR15, as there are plenty of different platforms.

I actually do want to get into 3gun! Main reason I'm going to get one, looks like fun and good SHTF training. To 3gun, time at the range will most definitely be needed.
And now that, that was brought up (was going to start a separate thread about it) anything to say to some one looking to get into it in alberta?

That's my rifle I hunt with most. Fluted skeletonized titanium parts along with a nice low scope that has a large objective lens really makes it a good point and shoot rifle

Nice, nothing wrong with that. Tape just for the long hike in?
Sceneries nothing to shake a stick at either!

Ya I think that was the third day on the way to get where we were going. The tape keeps everything out of the barrel like rain and pine needles.

As far as joining 3 gun talk to your local ranges I believe the genesee range has an active 3 gun group. For a 3 gun rig you are probably going to want an ar15 in the 16-18" barrel range with a medium contour barrel. 13-15" free float rail, side port brake to keep on target for faster times, and some sort of red dot or 1-4x scope. I ran a 14.5" gun last year with an aimpoint but this year I built a specific rifle for 3 gun with a 1-6 vortex strike eagle.
This is my 3 gun rifle.

Thanks rob.
Ya, I was looking at genesee already as I'm nearby and they do have a 3gun league, dates already set for this year.
Nice rifle. I was looking at a dpms oracle and a Burris 1-4 scope. I've seen mixed reviews on this rifle, but there's one in stock at a store in town so when I get home I'll put hands on it to take a look. I think it should be good for a starter, I can do some upgrades later in the year.
Can't wait....

Where did the 3 gun guys from Spruce Grove relocate to?
